MelMac is such a suck-up...has to be EVERYONE'S friend. I don't know...that William Katt board looks retarded...doesn't it, Lauren? I think it looks good but I only like KATT because of his GAH work. Alright, William, now you may have your bullets back. *points in HD's direction* He's over there. Heh heh heh.

It's too bad someone can't create a board that's all-encompassing, involving everything and everyone involved with TGAH, characters and actors, other shows by the same ... production ... compa .... wait a minute ... Ain't it, though?

I've always felt this summed up the show: Three different personalities combine together to beat the bad guys and have fun

I don't know...it was rare they let Pam be a part of it. I think she could have added a lot to the show if she had been more involved.

I'll admit there was a lot of potential with Pam in stories (as you've read in a couple of recent ones I've done). Probably what hurt her was her having a baby and having to work around it. There were some episodes that were great, but if they had Pam, would've been even better. Only two where her absence was probably for the best were "200 MPH fastball" (so Bill could goof on the contract), and "Hog Wild" (Because she'd been kidnapped/whatnot).

Been visiting family this week, and happened across the last part of "Catch Me If You Can" which starred Katt. He does a good job playing a bad guy (even though I only saw the last 15 mins. of it. ) And it was funny to see the finale of it, because I'm assuming the character survived the fall (as they say additional multiple arrests in the broadcast of the arrests) if he was anything like the detective... I'd hate to be him. I'm going to have to find a few more of his films so I can see how he plays certain characters. What I'm kicking myself for now is not getting River's End at Wal-Mart when I had the chance. The funny part is that the station for some reason decided it was GAH day. They showed the above with Katt and then a movie with Robert Culp. If only they showed one with Connie and Michael Pare today, it'd be complete. ------------------------------ Funny thing I noticed with Katt as far as being a bad guy: He tends to deepen his voice a little bit more when he talks. It's pretty funny actually, because it does work well in making his character more of a viper type.

It's also called "Hide and Seek" or "Deadly Game." I just went by the title that they used at the end credits of the movie. Sorry about that. The synopsis is "When a 12 year old boy (Ryan de Boer) with an attitude witnesses a mob killing, the job of protecting him falls to a down-on-his luck cop (Tim Matheson)." Slight spoiler, but he plays a counterfeiter in this one. Pretty good for the 15 minutes I saw.

I like all the kids, but Pare does stick out more when thinking of a movie on my part because he's been in several in recent years. I've seen "Robocop" in recent weeks, and I'd love to see "V" again, mostly because I remember the series being on TV when I was little. Never will forget that alien baby birth... or Faye being tortured in the chamber with the running lights. (Ironically it and her running down the corridor with preserved humans for the aliens food stuck with me all these years). Don Cervantes... If he had something, I'd love to watch it, but he has apparently disappeared. Also, going by the stations we get from Houston, I have this feeling that we would get "Eddie and the Cruisers" or one of Connie's movies over "RoboCop" because "Hide and Seek" is usually not a show shown on TV, local stations, network, cable or otherwise while "RoboCop" is. In other words, this stations the equivalent of an '80s and '90s verison of AMC - rare movies on TV. I have yet to see all of "Eddie and the Cruisers" yet, so I can't say much about Pare's performance. Jessie was terrific as a bad guy in RoboCop though and Faye was excellent in "V."

And it IS a good movie, no matter what the reviews might say...

I'm watching "Dreams" and got thinking about Ralph being a speaker at this youth rehabilitation function. I thought, Well, he DID turn around a bunch of juvenile delinquints, so he'd be a good choice for such an affair.
I thought, Just tell them about how you turned this class around.
Then I got thinking about just what it was Ralph did that others before him did not, and came up with:
Respected the kids Didn't go in with pre-conceived notions Didn't assume they were stupid kids
I can't say for sure the other teachers did any or all of the above, but the way Ray talks about the class, and the class behaves when Ralph shows up, I'd say they did not.
Any thoughts on this?

Respected the kids Didn't go in with pre-conceived notions I am not sure about this. In some ways, he had to have some notions about how someone should stand up to these kids, and how to stand up to trouble makers. Whe else would he be so hard on Tony? Remember the "pick up the chair scene."
OMG.
Ralph was going all Bill on Tony.

Yes, I understand he'd have to have that notion, to know how to react to them.
Maybe it's more like he didn't see them as unsalvageable, as some with that notion may have. He worked with them on a level they'd identify with, and that could be seen as a token of respect too, that he wasn't talking down to them.

Was it in Sunset Blvd when Paco asks him about whether or not they put Ralph in their with him because he couldn't deal with regular kids.
Maybe our Master Paco was right... not in that he wasn't smart enough, but that Ralph was so unique, so different, so outside the box (in an average Joe sort of plain Vanilla way) that he wouldn't make it with normal kids. Maybe he'd be bored. Maybe he'd feel like he wasn't really helping kids.
So, if Ralph was different in that way, maybe that helped him figure out how to deal with the different kids in his class.

I know I am outside the box in my teaching. I think that is one of the few ways Ralph and I are similar. We know that the students CAN do things so we find ways to ENCOURAGE them to do so.
