You know... thinking about Murdock and his shirts, I think he started the trend for the crazy saying shirts we have now. Maybe we need to check the labels to see if they're made by H.M. Designs or something. Have seen a jacket similar to the one he has though, but not for sale in most stores.

Ok. I know that there is a thread for GAH related proboards, but I can't find it.
I wanted to let people know about another board that I put up a while back, before the Culpalicious thing. I didn't want to then announce it right on the heels of all that, for many reasons. But it's been a while, and Bill needs his own board...

I just found out that Mona does a great Dolly Parton impersonation.
Lately, Mona has been heard singing this old Dolly Parton song...
The only difference is... I will...

It looks good there, Josie. Like I said in my guest post, I probably won't join, but it looks great.

Hello, all,
There are three GAH episodes where our athletic Culp stumbles noticeably in the easiest of movements. In the pilot, as Maxwell, Ralph and Pam are being taken to the basement in the evil lair of the bad guys, Culp stumbles a couple of steps down the stairs, catching himself. In "3-Ring Circus", a wonderful episode which I just re-watched last night, Maxwell stumbles going towards the stunned Kenny Givers after flattening him with his impressive right elbow (Culp obviously had a cold during that episode, as well). And, in "Hit Car", when Maxwell gets out of the car at the high school with Ralph, having just really annoyed Johnny, Culp says "Ouch!" for real because he twists his ankle getting started on his crutches, and then it takes him quite a few steps to get his coordination going using only one crutch.
Any other examples of our man Maxwell being just a teensy clumsy?

I don't zoom in on all the Culp scenes so I miss a few. I only zoom for Connie.

Hey, HD,
Well, how the heck Connie/Pam hits her head in "Capt Bellybuster" when the bullets fly at the newspaper, I'm not quite sure, but it sure might fit in the clumsy category. Ralph can be very clumsy taking his clothes off to unveil the suit off in Reseda Rose. Plus, there is that little flying into the train moment....
I not only zoom with Bill, I pause, rewind, rewatch, sometimes skip through scenes he's not in and then soak the remote with drool. Probably, you don't drool that much when you watch Connie. Or bark like a dog in heat. At least, not with your wife around! ;-))))

What makes the show fun is that all three have foibles including falling down. There has to be some humor in the stories, including the oddball stuff such as tripping/falling down or they fall flat. That's why I don't like "Vanity" that much. While I understand that part of it is they just didn't have much money to film GAH anymore, it just felt depressing overall because it lacked any genuine humor. There might've been some in the script, but I just can't feel it with any character. Needless to say, I like the introspective of Bill more in Lilacs, as I can see it happening, even the end to a point. Bill realizes that she could be reformed, such as not shooting Bill when she had the chance, and so he gave her a chance. Now, what happens afterward is a mystery, but we do know that she isn't back in the third season. Whatever did I think, compounded with Ralph's gripes about being on a stakeout, is what lead to the arguments they had in "DVS."

Melmac,
I was not being snarky or cynical, so settle down. Just because I mention Pam or Ralph in a post you do not have to jump all over me. I find that just a teensy tiresome at times. My comments regarding Pam and Ralph were lightly written and relevant to my thread of clumsiness. Not quite sure yours were, but that's okay. I enjoy seeing Bill's character expanded upon, as there is so much to him, so Lilacs works for me, except the odd ending where we the audience are left hanging regarding his and O'Neil's relationship.

Melmac, I was not being snarky or cynical, so settle down. Mona I responded because I felt it ironic you were using Ralph/Pam as examples when HD was mentioning that he only zooms in on scenes with Connie. His quote was Your response: From reading your response, it was not relevant to what HD said at all, but instead did what I have been kidded about on board: went about using negative Ralph and Pam moments for no apparent reason. It's funny to me because I feel you did someting that you have said I had a tendency to do, except in my case it was do a counter with a negative view about Bill. Your post was relevant to the clumsiness, but not to HD's comment. I read it in the order it was meant to be in: a response to HD. If you were doing an addendum to your PM, you could've mentioned it in your following post if you could not amend it. If that's what you were doing, I do apologize. That said, I did not jump over you personally, as the said, and honestly, I do not see one observation as such. It's as tiresome to me that you think I'm jumping on you because you mention Pam and Ralph, when I am not. When I said "No need to get cynical or snarky with the other characters, as I get told about with our leading FBI agent. What makes the show fun is that all three have foibles including falling down," I was chiding you for what I (at least) saw was what you like to give me a hard time for - using Pam and Ralph in a rebuttal, as I do using Bill. The second part is what I would normally say: It's those little foibles of a character, such as Bill's dog biscuit habit or Ralph running his hand through his hair, that make it enjoyable to watch. It's also one reason I remembered this show after a 20+ absence from TV. What I remember is Ralph crashing into the billboard and some of the holographs, and given people's memory nowadays, it says something when you can remember watching the pilot at 2 years old 24 years later (when I joined this board) with NO viewing of it between those times. I probably don't like some shows nowadays because the real life characters don't have any minor quirks like that. OT, but fits, it's also why I'd love to see Hugh Laurie win best actor for "House." He has those minor quirks in his character and plays them flawlessly. The main reason I wrote the post is because it is ironic, especially since you counter with a pro-Bill comment here when I chide you. You didn't need to go and defend Bill here, as I didn't speak negatively toward the character. I've studied in depth all three characters, particularly for this current story I'm nearing completion, so I understand the reasoning behind character analyses. Your analysis of Ralph's anger, which I'm noticing the subtleties of it at times more often, helped out in a few particular parts in this story. (And, in case you're rebutting my comment about "Vanity," it's not my favorite not because Culp wrote it (as I like "Lilacs" and what I've read of "The Long Fall at 10, 2 and 4"), but because of the way it was filmed. But, that's no one's fault except ABC when they cancelled the show. All of them did the best they could with what they had.) If you'd like to continue this, please feel free to banter about it in PM with me. But I assure you, I was not attacking you, but making an observation which I felt was ironic - right, wrong or curly-cued. Now, back to the wonderfulness that is Bill. (I say this because he keeps Ralph from punching Kevin's lights out in my current story. He's the only one who can keep Ralph's temper calm too in it, and that's all I'm saying.)

And what does this have to do with Bill Maxwell...?
THIS IS MY SHRINE! Worship, or respectfully take the debate outside... or at least into the Bingo hall... The first part of my comment was an observation of something I noticed. Apparently I had misread the post made, and I have subsequently apologized to the person who was , in the best way I can. And here, I apologize to Mona for gently chiding her about an observation I made in general, not about her mentioning Ralph and Pam in the comments. We're all entitled to our opinions about all the characters, and sometimes they are misread by others. Only thing else I will say is that my comment was an error in judgment (though I'm never going to be perfect), and if I respond in the future, it will be strictly Bill Maxwell.
