I just don't like them as much. I prefer scripts that way I can visualize it like the show. However, if I love a book series, I can write books about them, but not scripts because I can't visualize how the characters would act with real people. The game thread is stretching my fanfic participation level to the limits. Maybe, but you do it very well. I have problems in the opposite way. I have trouble writing scripts, save the commercial, but can write stories as such. Downside to writing stories and the new one is that you have to be briefer on descriptions.

Hey, HD just made himself the boss of the third Interactive Thread: Script Edition!
The one where each move is ONE character's dialog, with as many stage directions as needed.
Get to work, houdiniderek!

I'll definitely attest to how tough writing fanfic can be. I've written in several fandoms, some easier than others, but lately I've felt burnt out on ideas. I'll get a small idea, start a fic & then leave it unfinished for forever. Besides that, I've found I'm a better "slice of Life" (SOL) writer than a real plot writer. I just can't get all of the little intricacies put together, plus I have a terrible time creating characters (which is why I write fanfic, obviously).

Get to work, houdiniderek! Can't do that...I want all the money and then I can change the dialogue and the music when it goes to DVD.

No prob, when I said "Get to work" that included contacting SJC for the money and right to change dialogue/music. Come on, man, think!

It has been a long day of posting...I am just over a hundred away from being able to give you all my surprise...coincidentally this means that I am over a hundred posts on the day, I think. So cut me some slack...besides it is probably past SJC's bedtime...I can call him at home tomorrow.

This one that I'm getting to post tomorrow (yeah ) I had some trouble with. I ended up choosing the first names out of the blue and the last names are two gemstones from a book. One of the few other uses for a metalsmith and jewelrymaking book. I lucked out with "Ruby...." in that several were namesakes and the rest were out of the blue. Tatt, however, was a double one: based on MyTatuo's username and a variation of a real-life name from the 1800s (Tutt). So his was actually accurate for the time where as I had to create one for HD, as houdiniderek wouldn't work as a proper (it was changed to Henry Danielson).

OK, to slightly get back on topic, as promised, here's another commercial. In this case, I opted to go radio instead of TV, sorta like the "Flash Gordon" ones in the 1940s. I couldn't find enough pics from the show for it to work successfully as a TV one. And, in the '40s style, would probably run about a minute, 1:30 if read.
But anyway, here's the radio version of "Ruby in the Sky with Greenguys" a.k.a the first GAH Interactive Game Thread.
(GAH theme begins, speaker (voiceover) ) in Italics
[glow=red,2,300]Wednesday[/glow]
*sound effects of being beamed up into spaceship.*
Ralph: Why am I here?
Alien voice (Torus): We need the suit you now wear.
[glow=red,2,300]Mysterious greenguys in black offer a menacing proposition to Ralph. ...[/glow]
*Sound of an explosion*
Ralph: What was that? What happened to Arizona?
Torus: Nothing. Just a sample of what will happen if you don't remove the suit yourself.
[glow=red,2,300]Which lead to the adventure of two lifetimes for Ralph, Pam and Bill.[/glow]
*New spaceship sounds*
Second alien voice (greenguy): No one from your state of Arizona has died today, Mr. Hinkley, at least not by the hands of extra-terrestials.
Bill: Not gone, what kind of malarkey are you trying to fly by our scanners here?
Pam: Excuse me, but what did you mean, Arizona is not gone?
greenguy: Arizona does still exist, but the people, building and other items cease to exist. This history of the area you know as Arizona has changed and is trying to alter the rest of your nation's history.
Pam: So, what your saying is that there's nothing we can do?
greenguy: There is, and that is why we brought the three of you here.
[glow=red,2,300]And Ralph is the only one who can save them by traveling to the past[/glow]
Ralph: All right, wish me luck. ...
*Sound effects of whistling winds. Ralph screams, crash heard.*
HD: Glad to see you awake Mister.
Ralph: How long have I been unconscious?
HD: About two hours. You must have tripped or were thrown and struck your head. What were you doing on your way to Phoenix?
Ralph: I was trying to stop a package being delivered.
HD: Can't help you too much, last post came just as we heard you cry out.
Ralph: Oh no. I've got to find him and stop him before he crosses the state line.
[glow=red,2,300]To only find out that destroying this package would have dire consequences. ...[/glow]
Ralph: Can't you get here a diamond or red ruby?
Jack: Mister, I don't have much money, and what I got ain't for rings.
Ralph (uneasily): Do you have a picture?
Jack: That's my Mel.
Ralph (voiceover sounding): They aren't taking any chances. They knew I had that black ruby necklace in my time. How am I going to destroy it without altering my time?
[glow=red,2,300]Not only that, Pam and Bill face dangers of their own[/glow]
(Pam screams)
Torus: Come now Mrs. Hinkley, screaming isn't good for your voice.
Bill: what the hell is going on here. And who are you?
Torus: I'm Dr. Torus, and I had to find a way, to keep you, as you would say, on ice.
[glow=red,2,300]And the rogue greenguys keep making Ralph's chances for success worse.[/glow]
Third alien voice (Murphy): Mr. Hinkley, can you not see that you cannot win? You need to decide and destroy a ruby. Otherwise the decision will be made for you based on motives alone?
Ralph: How can Arizona be changing? Why is it happening so quickly?
Murphy: Because you are weakening. You get one shot at this. Jack, it is up to Ralph to save her. Her life is tied to the rubies, if Ralph dies or destroys the wrong won, so will Mel.
[glow=red,2,300]Can Ralph make the right decision in time or will Arizona remain in the past at the mercy of the rogue greenguys?[/glow]
Murphy: Come on Ralph, you haven't got all day.
HD: Ralph, as much as I hate to admit it son, he's right, you're so close to fainting again, and if he's right, do that before you destroy the ruby, they'll win and you'll die.
Ralph: Great, literally the biggest decision for my life and everyone's staring.
[glow=red,2,300]Find out on "The Greatest American Hero."[/glow]
*different voice over: Wednesdays at 8 p.m. eastern on ABC*
Note: there are minor changes in the dialog from story to fit the radio feel, but the radio can easily jump parts of dialog.

Geez...wrong dialogue...you are just like those TV shows that show scenes they edited OUT in the closing credits. Just like ABC.

Geez...wrong dialogue...you are just like those TV shows that show scenes they edited OUT in the closing credits. Just like ABC. It's not wrong, just modified a little bit. I cut out some of my dialogue from the story and altered one of Bill's comments (can't say horse "manure" (yes modded) on radio). I read the story to be sure I had the dialogue right if it was used.

They won't be in Arizona, that much I'll give you. The thread for the first one, which is completed, is listed in the fanfiction folder that's stickied. I think it's on Page 4. Hope this helps. (though I tend to write as though I flew into a wall).

You keep thinking that. Geez...some people think they are hot stuff all the time. Quit jumping comments HD (though that can't be helped). But, it was fun to write that out, given how many posts I had to go through. And now, for my next trick, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat. (Wait a minute, how'd that lion get there?)

Try it with AND without pictures. OK, here goes nothing (and apologies for going slightly OT). (GAH theme, voiceover in italics) [glow=red,2,300] Wednesday[/glow] (Own comment: Ha!) Ralph: Are you OK miss? Mel: Fine, what happened? How'd I get here? Ralph: Don't know, found you walking around outside my house as though dazed and then you fainted. Do you know where you were before you got here? Mel: No, but I thought I was in Texas working on a story of some sort. [glow=red,2,300] Ralph finds a young woman who thinks she was sent to a strange world of TV shows and captions[/glow] Bill: Whatdya mean that you think you've been sent to a fantasy world. We're real, and this is Los Angeles. Mel: I should be in Texas, wonder why I'm here? Ralph: Don't worry, Mel, the three of us will help out. Pam: Sure, there must be some reason you're here. [glow=red,2,300] Meanwhile, a mysterious presence has a surprise of his own for Ralph, Mel, Bill and Pam[/glow] HD: I have a surprise in store for her, she won't know what to expect. (switch scenes to Hinkley home) *holograph sfx* Ralph: I'm getting something. Mel, I think you ought to see this. Mel: Wow, what on Earth is that? Ralph: Don't know, but we'd better find out. Hopefully, it'll be a good surprise. [glow=red,2,300] Can Ralph and the gang figure out the mystery surprise of HD?[/glow] Ralph: Well, we'd get there quicker if we fly. Mel: We? Wait a second, I don't (Ralph picks her up in an arms carry and takes off) Whoa ..... *crashing sound effects heard* HD: Who are you guys? Ralph: We're here to solve the mystery of your surprise. Mel: Yeah, so show us what you got on your computer. [glow=red,2,300] Or will HD's surprise have consequences for both Ralph and Mel?[/glow] HD: All right, you asked for it. ... (Ralph stands in front of Mel to protect her, computer screen glows) [glow=red,2,300] Find out on "The Greatest American Hero"[/glow] *different voiceover "Wednesdays at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC"*
