Yeah, my case the only complete series I have is "GAH" and "Fawlty Towers." I'd like to get the complete series of "Campion" and part of "Doctor Who: 2005" but I've got to wait until my funds stabilize (which'll happen with this new job. Cost of living is much, much cheaper. ) (Then again, if I can get a used version of "The A-Team," I might get one season too. My case, I'd like the first season I think.)

I think the J-MAN would tell you how great the fourth season is. If you are only going to get one season, you should buy 2, 3, or 4. One reason is that they were FULL seasons. Another reason is that 5 is not the best. A final reason is that the first season has the crappy Face in the pilot.

It also pends on what I can afford, HD. I like A-Team, but if it's a choice between it and another favorite show of mine, the other show might win out over A-Team. (Then again, I've been reading A-Team fanfic lately... so maybe I'll get one someday.) And, while I admit I've never seen the first Face, he can't be as bad as Holly. If "GAHeroine" made the series, she'd had to have been replaced.

He COULD be as bad as Holly, but we got lucky. He was written by SJC and Lupo so there is less a chance of him being like that. He was a bad actor though, even with such a great script. They claim he was not replaced because of bad acting...I find that hard to believe.

I heard too he was too young looking to have served in the Vietnam War. And, Dirk Benedict was the original choice for the role, but someone said he wouldn't fit. Good thing they were proven wrong. Still love the bit with the Cylon though.
Murdock's success was that you didn't know if he was really insane or not. I think he was both in some weird way. He was sane enough to act crazy and make sense. Even his dog Billy made some sense there, because it gave him someone to talk to when the others were busy.
The one thing I felt sorry for Mr. T and BA was that they did at times make him the butt of all the jokes as far as slapstick. I mean, just about every time they flew they had to knock him out. That'd make anyone get tired of being manhandled, and if you listen to him in stuff since, he has a natural talent for comedy outside of the physical stuff.

That'd make anyone get tired of being manhandled, and if you listen to him in stuff since, he has a natural talent for comedy outside of the physical stuff. If you talk to the J-Man, he can be more descriptive about why Dirk was not chosen for the pilot. To sum it up as best as I can remember: SJC wanted both Peppard and Dirk for the roles they later played, but NBC refused to let him have both. Peppard was notoriously hard to work with and Dirk had been associated with a lot of flops. SJC had to choose, so he chose Peppard for Hannibal. Tim Dunigan played FACE in the 2-hour pilot. After the show was a huge hit, SJC demanded the right to have Dirk as Face and they allowed him to change Dunigan. The reason that it was allowed, aside from the fact that SJC might not leave the A-Team on NBC (my opinion), was because Dunigan looked too young to have fought in the Vietnam War. I believe that to be true, but I also think the network worried about him leaving and taking the A-Team elsewhere and they KNEW it would be a hit. I agree that Murdock was a great character, even though the network tried to get rid of him...again, J-Man can fill you in better if you email or PM him. As for B.A., the show was centered around that character from the start...a strong black role that had faults...such as fear of flying and a temper, but a heart of gold. I like the flying fear and how they overcame it at times. I agree he can do other comedy and he has the chance at times because of the nature of the show.

I do think it funny he's appeared at stuff the most lately (Mr. T). Benedict doesn't do much anymore unless he really likes it (though I think the last time I saw him was for the Battlestar Galactica 2005 stuff), and Schultz appears in stuff, just not much on screen. Peppard of course has since passed away, and the others I haven't really seen them do stuff since.
Thanks for the clarification on the three, HD. I didn't know that much about the whole switch to Benedict. I do think, however, they made a good choice. Still wish GAH lasted as long as "The A-Team" though.

Mr. T is probably the most recognized actor outside of the A-Team, but Schultz probably did the most work since he does the stage AND does a lot of things like voiceovers and guest appearances. And Mel, I wish BOTH shows had lasted at a minimum as long as MACGYVER...geez, maybe even THE SIMPSONS.

That has to be the single most ironic thing I've read in the past few days. Then again... I've had one of those Ralph visiting a college moments going back to one of my old colleges to take photos. Nine years later, the nachos are still $2.50 (too bad shirts can't be it seems though. )

I didn't post that but I am unsurprised...in fact, I am somewhat surprised it is not a trifle higher in the list. Or lower rather.

I didn't post that but I am unsurprised...in fact, I am somewhat surprised it is not a trifle higher in the list. Or lower rather. Considering what some were that ranked higher, this was lower than I expected (or wanted it) to be. I can't remember them all, but some such as "The tribe has spoken" yes are popular, but shouldn't rank higher. And, "You're fired" has been around longer than Trump's been alive, so it's not really a catchphrase, but a part of life (regardless of his "celebrity" status). BTW, I like both catchphrases, don't like they outranked Hannibal's line.

*Another Bump*
Wasn't sure if I should put this here or elsewhere, like in Ya know...
I always saw the A-Team as a fun show, for kids. It was fun and great because of it's humor and jokes and silly plots.
Now as I am going back to it, after all these years, I am noticing a lot of hard core military types are really into it... But as a kid, it was just a fun show...
Did I just never make the connection? Or has it become a cult following for that subgroup?
Hmmmm...

Hmmmm... Both. I think it has always appealed to kids because of the humor and the way people rarely get hurt and such and that made it good entertainment, especially with the little guy. It is also good for those macho military men because there are the car chases, gun fights, etc. I think that appeals to their inner child as well. Plus, there IS a lot of military history and it tends to be historically accurate and to work, so I think there is some admiration there for the trade of being a mercenary and/or soldier...not to mention the patriotism aspect.
