Impressive. Sad that they have to take some liberties since the original show was so great. It will be nice to see them expand beyond what the third season gave us though. It's also nice that the shorts will have the original actors (best that they can do). I wonder if they will have the kids back? I wonder if we can watch them online and just how bad the movie will be. You should cross post your post in the movie section, Ms. B.

Will say I'm very very excited about this... just can't say how much given where I am now reading this. ;D Well, at least one thing's been proven - the Herek directing the movie rumor was actually true. (But, it's nice to see one that has been real. ) That said, I hope Cannell and the rest of the cast actually get to help with the script too to make sure it still fits both the original concept of the show with a slight twist. I'm still leery of the rumor of what the movie script will be (but one point, if the villain in the book is the same as the rumored villain in the movie, it'll make more sense). And, it also begs to ask who's going to be in the movie, but still, it's cool they're doing it. Personally, I'm not against a little updating of the show, even the recurring villain, as the series had a Bill and Ralph have a few run ins with Russia/Soviet Union. The thing is how it's handled - the Master and Dalek's appearances through "Doctor Who" show good and bad elements of this - whether it'll work or not. I think they can, and it'll be neat to see what develops in the next few months.

I think it's wonderful that in the animated episodes all three of them have agreed to do their own voices.
I'm a little concerned with Cannell's description of Maxwell as the Fed that Ralph couldn't control, which misses Maxwell's whole personality by a wide mark, but then again, the episodes Cannell wrote for TGAH handled Maxwell very well.
Anyway, this certainly is exciting!

For all we know Pam will be a judge and Ralph principal too and have their quirks as well that are slightly different from what we see as norm. Plus, they're also his characters, his wishes.

That's true, Mel. He owns them and can do what he wants with them! Still, he allowed the humanity and vulnerabilities to be added into Maxwell's character, so I hope he realizes we expect that in the movie version. I hope Cannell rewatches the episodes as much as I do, and probably everyone else does on this Forum. Perhaps I can contact Cannell to be a Maxwell character lobbyist and Miss Davidson can do the same for Ralph and HoudiniDerek for Pam. That way we KNOW our characters will not be toyed with! Anyone know Cannell's contact info? Mona

I wish I did. Then I could make sure Pam was not messed with and the new A-TEAM movie was worth it. ;D Let me know if he responds to you, Mona.

He knows what his fans want. They also had some say in the show when they were filming it. I have every confidence.

He may know what he wants for RALPH, but that's no guarantee he will present the other characters as their fans wish them to be shown.

He may know what he wants for RALPH, but that's no guarantee he will present the other characters as their fans wish them to be shown. Mona I think both he and SJC understand the show, and value Culp and Connie's opinions based on the original series as well. If he hadn't, I don't think "Lilacs" or "Vanity" would've made it given how they felt overall. But, I think too as fans we all see things in the characters that others don't see when they look into them. Different points of view and such. Some of us Ralph fans ignore the abysmal character treatment he got in "GAHeroine," some Bill fans look too deeply into the banter between Pam and Bill in "The Hit Car" as possibly being innuendo when Bill was generally asexual in the series ("Lilacs" a good exception). My hope is that everyone involved with this takes bits of all our views on the characters and balances it out with how SJC and the cast want them to be. That will make them stronger long term.

I am not talking just about the shorts though...I am talking about the comics too. From the sound of it, Culp and Connie were not involved in the comics and that could be where the discrepancies are. Plus, I agree with Mona: Katt might be more involved with Ralph, but not the other two. That is why it would be nice to have SJC doing the stories as he knew the characters best.

Guess we'll have to wait and see; however, if it's anything like the good old days, SJC would take input from all of them. I just don't see him changing it because Katt's go the comic book line (which of course, there's two working on the "GAH" series ones). Katt admittedly is getting a lot of the credit out of the three though because he is the owner/creator of the Catastrophic Comics group. Personally, as I've said before - it's all THREE why it's a success, and why this one is being made - and ahead of "The A-Team" none the less.

Actually, there were A-TEAM comics and such made a long time ago. Yes, but just because SJC is teaming up with Katt does not mean SJC is doing the writing for the series or being heavily involved...the same for the shorts.

I think Cannell would have to be one who has to approve them. Afterall, you don't really want, say an out there character - to be added in there that shouldn't be. Hopefully though, he'll at least write one story in the lot, only because he does write very well. I also like his mystery novels as well.

I wish they would make comics of the series first personally. I would love to see that done and this way more time could be spent developing new stories.
