I like how you quote something I specified to Claye. Do you want to be called Claye too? As I said, there was a lot of merchandise back in the day for other shows. I was suprised so little was done for GAH. Glad to know they are finally on the ball all of these years later.

I've been called Marci and Fred before for no reason elsewhere, so ... if you did call me Claye, go ahead. (Real case - I didn't see the first part of the comment, just the second. Sorry there... just got interested in commenting and should've without the quote. ) You bring a good point on merchandising. DC really had an impact on that with the lawsuit back in the 1980s. The merchandising reps weren't going to risk their company by trying to get stuff made for "GAH," so it was pretty much the Megos and a couple of parodies in "Cracked" and "MAD." But, plus side is - this is a step in the right direction here.

Creator of shows like Hunter and Quincy M.E., Cannell is best remembered by TV viewers as the "guy with the typewriter"
More bad research by internet writers. Frank Lupo is given solo credit in creating Hunter, and Cannell had NOTHING to do with Quincy. That was created by Glen Larson. I wish people could research better than looking at Wikipedia.

Yep, you can blame the lawsuit for lack of TGAH lunchboxes, gum cards, sleeping bags, school notebooks and folders, Halloween costumes, plastic gun and badge sets, mothership model kits, etc, etc, etc

Yep... surprised no one's gotten it confused with "TGAH 2008." I say this only because of their front page and how good/official it looks, not the content. Do agree only on one point - I pretty much remembered SJC originally for the typewriter bit. Since, it's a different story. Just so I have my head on straight too - did Larson also create "Buck Rogers"? I'm thinking either it or "Battlestar Galactica."

Just so I have my head on straight too - did Larson also create "Buck Rogers"? I'm thinking either it or "Battlestar Galactica." Actually he created both. In fact, an old issue of Starlog from the 80s mentioned how the starfighters from Buck Rogers were originally designed to be the Colonial Vipers and were switched around later. (The two pointy "fangs" on the front of the starfighters could confirm that.) Anyhoo.... No matter whether SJC and Ralph & Friends are involved in the new GAH or not, we should start getting used to the fact that it will *not* be the same as the old show. New decade, new visual styles, new trends. If we can mentally adjust and go into the movie expecting this, it could make for a more enjoyable experience. I for one don't examine all the little details while I'm in the theater...I usually save that for the DVD! ;D

It is a shame people cannot realize and applaud people for their OWN work.

Thanks for the help Videofox. Both are favorite shows of mine (well the original "Galactica" though ). I agree with you too on that it's not going to be exactly the same show, given the huge change in technology (remember the old two shades of green Apple IIe's of yesteryear? ). I do hope they keep the same ideas in the show - even with the tweaks here and there. I would hope that the only thing they don't do is decide the greenguys have to come to the rescue all the time or it's about monsters. Those are the two biggest worries I"d have of them doing this. (And - I won't sweat the small stuff, though I'll admit it was fun catching the modern day water tower in a shot of Rosewell as well as the out of place Slip 'n' Slide in "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.")

Yep, I agree any new film will not be old show. I just hope it retains the "feel" of the original.
If anyone from the new production is reading this, I'm fully available as advisor in that capacity. I could drag myself to the coast and be at your disposal. ;D

I have faith in all of them!

I'm just glad to see a breath of life into the show that's OFFICIAL. Comic, toons, & live action movie... I feel like I'm in Heaven! And I trust that Katt & crew (whomever works on which project) can keep these reincarnations close to the original while still updating & going in new directions. I can't wait for these!

Tell me about it. My comic guy will have them for me. I'm surprised he remembered me. I used to go there like every weekend with my godchildren. We'd get Pokemon cards and comics, but I haven't been there in like2 or 3 years. I mean I know why Katt remembered me. . Guess I am memorable wherever I go!
