Well, surely you folks would want to be able to watch TGAH with the best possible picture quality and sound available, not to mention a considerably more durable and scratch-resistant disc?
(I'm playing Devil's Advocate, by the way.)

LOL! Sure... but tell us, how much stock do you own in Blu-Ray companies? LOL After re-reading my last post, just before I saw yours, I did realize that it indeed looks as though I have a vested interest in Blu-Ray technology. ;D Not the case at all, however. I'm just a 9 to 5 working-class type guy. I simply think that it's a superior technology to DVD in every way, and so I encourage all my friends and acquaintances to try it out. Especially considering that it's almost as inexpensive nowadays as DVD. And you can still play your regular DVDs in the Blu-Ray player, don't forget, and the player will improve even those!

Okay, I'm gonna be the skeptic here on the picture quality thing. LOL.
Honestly, do you truly think Blu-Ray can give us any clearer a picture quality for TGAH than plain ol' DVD, given that (my assumption is) the source material/masters are the same? Surely I'm not the only one that's noticed the difference in picture quality in some of the episodes, from one scene to the next? The flying stuff especially is noticeable and when the scene is about to fade the picture quality changes. And then there's The Lost Diablo episode done strictly on video tape instead of film.
As for sound quality, I can hear everything from the rustle of Ralph's suit (and Bill's suit for that matter LOL) to the camera moving in some episodes. That's pretty good sound! LOL

Team Blue, it's hard to explain to someone, if they've never watched a Blu-Ray disc before. However, it is absolutely true that the image is quite a bit crisper-----yes, even for an older show like TGAH----and the sound quality is also "crisper", for lack of a better term. I don't have Surround Sound or anything, yet I can still notice the improvement in sound quality when I watch a Blu-Ray disc.

I have a Blu-Ray player, and have purchased a few titles again that I already had on DVD. However, I do not plan to do that with everything.
If TGAH is released on Blu-Ray I will be at the head of the line for sure.

I have so many DVDs (over 400), that it would be a massive, very expensive, undertaking. I, too, have bought only a few titles that I already had on DVD----mainly some of my favorite films. However, I now generally buy any new movies in that format. I do still buy regular DVDs as well, mainly because the selection is still much larger, plus they are now so cheap. Over here, you can buy lots of titles on DVD for as low as $5.

I received a blu-ray player for Christmas along with a blu-ray of Avatar (which I haven't seen yet) and have so far only bought one other blu-ray disc, the latest Star Trek movie. Mostly I use it for the online streaming capability. As for re-buying movies I already have, I will probably just go back and get a few of the Star Trek movies, maybe remastered Star Wars, but since I already own the original GAH release as well as the Collector's Set, I'm on the fence about buying it again in blu-ray.... I guess it depends on the price and whether or not the original music is restored.

I have indeed bought a box set of all 4 Star Trek: The Next Generation movies on Blu-Ray. Only one of them I already owned on DVD, though, so it was a good purchase for sure. (I owned another two on VHS at the time)
Eventually, I think I'll re-purchase my all-time favorite Star Trek film on Blu-Ray: "Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan".

I simply think that it's a superior technology to DVD in every way, and so I encourage all my friends and acquaintances to try it out. You're assuming that we haven't seen it, and that the moment we do we will be won over? Sorry. No dice. I've seen it. A friend has a blu-ray. It's fine. Good for him for making that choice. I personally couldn't care less if it's a superior picture. As long as I can see and hear things on my dvd and big, bulky, 9 year old tv, it's really not that important to me.

Jo Pierce: I'm not necessarily assuming anything, no. However, I DO know that many people HAVEN'T seen it, and that they would indeed be won over if they did .
