Does anyone know if they're being distributed outside of the USA? Feel the love. dolfyn. Given it's pretty popular around the world (i.e. we have members from Australia and Italy that I know of ), I'd think that it'd be sent overseas as well.

One whopping store... that's more interested in stocking action figures & carrying very few DC comics, even! I only went in once & they had NOTHING I was looking for (DC: Batman, Robin, & Nightwing!). I've never been back. I've pre-ordered them from TFAW.com, but it isn't the same as browsing a shop & walking away with $30 to $50 worth of great back issues.

You do know there are 2 different covers right? Silver and black if I've read right. Does make me wonder if they're going to have alternate covers for all six comics. At least we know the comic is very popular if it's sold out within the day it's put out on the shelves. ;D

At least you guys have a chance - I'm going to have to probably get someone to get mine, and even there it's a wait. But, to pull a La Quinta, I now have "Sparks" 1-4 to read though.

Finally got my copy at the comic shop my brother and I have gone to for years, also the one that hosts the comic book convention I mentioned in the other thread. Got the black cover one. I didn't know there was a variant till I saw it on the cover and checked to see if the other one was there, but no luck. Along with the Buffy and Angel comics I'm failing in catching up with, a nice little gathering. Especially since the store is about 30 minutes away from me. The one in town isn't carrying the comic (though they could) and we've been loyal to the other one.

This is for Derek : Well, apparently, I literally got the last TGAH comic in the entire Phoenix area Valley. I just read it and have to say I was both surprised by it and pleased by it. They changed a LOT of the story, and I'm not always sure why, except to showcase certain personality traits of our main characters. [glow=red,2,300]Warning!(IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE BOOK BEFORE BUYING, DO NOT READ THIS)[/glow] No real spoilers, per se--anyway, everyone knows the story!--but I am mentioning some story specifics: So, Bill is paired with John Plame, not Mackie, who is a young kid who infiltrated the group of bad guys, and is not, as we assumed, Bill's longer termed partner, middle-aged like him, from the FBI. John is riding a motorcycle, not a dune buggy, when he is surrounded and shot dead. Apparently, the aliens send Bill a message "from Plame" on Bill's cell phone to get him to the desert; and Bill winds up finding John's bracelet (continuity error--John has it on initially riding the motorcycle and not after he falls off into water, but Bill finds the bracelet on dry land), which matches his (Bill wears a "Livestrong" type bracelet???--my eyes are watering...). They add a whole new intro to Tony and Ralph, showing Tony being considered to be a wiseass trouble-maker (which he has been in the past, and still is) and Ralph being a literature quoting good guy. A new school character is added in, called Derek; we're not sure if he's another professor or the replacement of Mr. Knight, the principal. There is a whole new scene of appliance destruction which Bill invades and is where he has his first meeting with the juvenile delinquents and Ralph. That's odd. Then the meeting with Ralph at night on the road, and John bringing the suit is pretty much like we saw on the pilot, but a lot more narration. It's odd they didn't have any evidence of John having been shot, like we saw on TV; blood spots on his torso. Bill's character is really excellently written, I have to say. In just a few pages we see his bombastic personality but also his real caring for his partner, a younger black man. We also see his wit, and his patriotism. We hear his dead partner saying it was an "honor" working with him and we realize that although he is "in your face", he is also a really good guy, and as the TV show made us immediately understand, not a bigot or racist. I have to give the writers credit for having so much of his complex personality produced for us in this first issue. That was excellent. Also, the one panel of Bill and Ralph facing each other, and Ralph sarcastically saying he's Bill's "BFF", alluding to a statement Bill made earlier, is eerily uncanny as we all know they WILL be BFF in the not too distant future. There was a very odd interlude whereby a bad guy is killed in a freakish way, and I'm not sure how THAT is supposed to play out. Rhonda is pretty much written out of the story, so no "she has a crush on Ralph" plotline. Also, there is a bus driver; Ralph is not driving the van. So, although I think some plot changes were unnecessary, the capturing of the personalities of the characters was very well done. Even Villacana has a moment of reflection based on Ralph telling him to not be the person everyone looks to when trouble occurs, and we know Tony struggled with being a decent guy while feeling like the world was against him. So, a good start overall. If they go on characters, more than copying the pilot, I can definitely deal with that. Mona

Well, There were liberties taken to modernize it to today's world. (Like today the teacher would never drive the bus.)
They also said Gabriels army is going to be a reoccurring bad guy (ie-Lex Luthor) (In case you missed the interviews) So you understand what's going on. The first 3 books will tell the origin story then on to new adventures. It was a Great first comic and Wm and Chris did a wonderful job writing it. I'm so looking forward to the next one.
