Now THAT'D be cool - win the Lotto and then we can start our OWN GAH convention and pay the stars to attend! Fly 'em out, set 'em up at the nicest hotel, the whole sha-bang! Who's in??? I am soooo tired! (HOW TIRED ARE YOU?) I am so tired that when I first read this I thought it said shag- bang! hehehee! "Shag" & "bang" are both slang for the same thing. Feel the love. dolfyn. ;D

HD, I know *ahem* "Take it to the smut board Mel.")

Feel the love. dolfyn. ;D Still think we ought to do it at a Six Flags or other theme park where we can have something for everyone - rides, games, visiting, etc. Of course, we'd probably have to be careful to not crash into the Justice League though...

Ooooh, yeah! I love scary rides! If there's a crazy new rollercoaster, I wanna go on it. ;D I went to Magic Mountain in LA in 1996, & really loved it. Although, I had to go on all the rides by myself because my sister is a big sook! Feel the love. dolfyn.

If GG is suddenly so rich, I would rather have it at a casino. ;D

At Fiesta Texas, I think you'd probably like ones such as the Rattler (a wooden rollercoaster), Poltergeist (lots of twists and turns - don't feel the effects of the speed until afterward), and RoadRunner Express (which is lots of twists and turns too, but no upside down ones and you see Coyote trying to catch RoadRunner. ). Personally though, I like the Scream (the tower ride there), all the water rides, the Gunslinger (it's one of those wobbly air chair rides that make me feel like I'm Ralph flying), Hustler (basically a Teacup ride but they look like billiard balls), and Wagon Wheel (like a Ferris wheel, but you end up going upside down at times. ) And of course I like saying hi to he Looney Tunes and seeing the shows - especially since Fiesta Texas excels there. They won the Golden Ticket (a top honor) for at least 8 years in a row for it.

It's pronounced the same way as "look" or "cook" (but with an "s", obviously). It means "cry-baby". So you can say that someone's having a "sook" or is "sooking", or you can call someone a "sook" or a "sooky-la-la". Lesson over. Isn't slang from other countries fun? ;D Feel the love. dolfyn.

True, and thanks for sharing. (had guessed baby, but wasn't 100 percent sure). I've had a few interesting ones from my old international roommates in college (laver for seaweed) as well as even here in Texas. I use soda water a lot for a Coca-Cola or other carbonated beverage, and one time when ordering one, someone said "We don't serve that." Realizing my error, I changed it to "a Coke" (even if I got a Dr Pepper out of the fountain. ) The most confusing one I get is a name - Fog, short for Foghorn Leghorn. I used the shortened name a lot, but have to clarify a lot because people think Henery Hawk is Foghorn otherwise. (Henery is the little chicken hawk )

Get that one well dolfyn. Fortunately, most of the ones used here are commonplace as far as typical Texas slang - it's the foodstuffs that people sometimes have to explain. Things such as mountain oysters, Texas toothpicks, and believe it or not King Ranch chicken have to be described sometimes. Then again... given I had to explain exactly what part of a bison was used for a ceremonial rattle in an American Indian exhibit (they said the wrong part), I'm not surprised to get the King Ranch chicken question sometimes.

OK I got another dollar on the lotto. You guys need to work harder. The con is next week. If we keep going at this pace we'll make the comic con like...in 300 years.

Next week's prize is $50 million!! Feel the love. dolfyn. ;D I rarely play the lotto, so I don't know yet if I'm going to play or not. But, then again I got lucky and won $5 off an unusued scratch off lotto ticket I found, so who knows anymore. But should this not work - is there anyone who is going to the convention?
