If there is a movie, it is unlikely the original cast will be back as leads.
The issue of a GAH movie has been back and forth for the past few years. It's a go, then it's a no go, then it's a go again, then it's off the shelf again....you get the picture. I've never known what to think exactly, for the past 2 years or so I just figured there would never be a movie...especially after some of the comments MortimerWest made on the old board about Cannell Productions and movies. But after watching the DVDs, I get the feeling that GAH movie may infact be a very real possibilty. It was mentioned more then once, and Stephen J. Cannell himself continues to insist that there is a movie in development over at Disney. See the problem is that this movie has been in development since about the spring of 2001. The A-Team movie has been in development since 1995 I think.

yeah i have heard all the rumors and seen the fake poster and even heard that adam sandler would play the latest owner of the suit.
but my ideal would be to see the original cast. forgetting that 'heroine' ever happened. i never did like the idea of ralph getting full of himself and having to give up the costume. or the nuckle head they gave it to. it was as unatural as karate kid 4 with hillary swank.

I read the comments that William made at a comic-con a couple years ago that his favorite for Ralph was Owen Wilson.
I love that idea, and I would go with...
Ralph - Owen Wilson Pam - Amanda Peete Bill - Bruce Campbell

After watching the interviews last night I am even MORE wanting the original cast back. I was blown away to sit there thinking it would be cool to have Pare's character be mentored by Culp's in a new movie, then to hear Selleca and Pare say it seconds later. Funny.
In my treatment of the NEW movie the original cast would star.
It would begin with something happening to the GAHeroine where she is killed fighting some attacking un-earthly force. A new field agent would uncover some odd events (Pare). While reporting to his boss (Culp) Maxwell is also alarmed since Holley (GAHeroine) has gone missing. To avoid having to even show her I would have her just go missing. Then during Culp's and Pare's investigation they get sent to Palmdale. While there Ralph and Pam show up also. Everyone is confused why they are there.
The four would get 'beamed' to the ship. They are told that the GAHeroine was killed by a 'super alien race'. There is no time to train a new GAH team or a new suit user. So Ralph is needed and FAST.
When Ralph of course WINS at the end. He is allowed to continue in the suit. But Ralph has one request. A NEW SUIT DESIGN!!! The movie closes with Ralph wearing the new suit in flight. Kick in the 'believe it or not' remake and role credits.
HMMM.....maybe I will draw a comic book version of my treatment.

Ah, it'll never happen, but I STILL think Culp could play Maxwell. Easily. Just include less hand-to-hand combat scenes. ;D

Scenario: Based on MortimerWest's comments and the general lack of buzz on the movie now for the last year or two- it did indeed seem as though a GAH movie was dea din the water. And considering what was being tossed about for script ideas (Mortimer's excepted) I really wouldn't WANT to see that movie get made.
I would love to see the original cast back as well. But if a movie ever does happen, that'll never come to pass. If we're lucky they might make some 'pass the torch' scene or a minor cameo to please the fans (in hopefully a better way than Starsky and Hutch) but if you look at most other TV-Modern Film remakes original cast members are rarely seen/heard since usually you've got a new cast playing the old parts.
Owen Wilson's name has been tossed around for ages and lots of other fan specualted castings for the other leads like Jennifer Connelly or Sandra Bullock for Pam and Clint Eastwood, Tommy Leee Jones or Jeff Bridges for Bill.
After Zoolander, Starsky, Wedding Crashers and so on, I'm not so sure Owen's the best choice. He's built up too much of a comedy persona on screen and as such would be hard to accept him doing the serious parts the role would require (if adapted as done in the TV series) Realisitically, Hollywood will probably just make it a slapstick comedy to make it an easier sell to the masses. People in general percieve the show as a straight up comedy anyway right? It'll be an Austin Powers in tights with a feelgood family message.
Unless we luck out with a great writer-director/creative team that respects the property, has the vision to do it right AND has enough clout to get the meddling Hollywood exec studio notes off thier back jump on board - I doubt we'll ever see this movie or certianly not a good version of it.
But if DVD sales go through the roof- who knows?

Just as well I will probably do a graphic novel version of my concept for the fun of it.

Bruce Campbell as BILL?! Wow, I don't think that would work... or maybe it would. Could Bill ever be played by an actor with that large of a chin? LOL

HMMM.....maybe I will draw a comic book version of my treatment. I'm all for this idea, except, I also agree that he should never have had to pass on the suit to that annoying woman. It's been 23 years. Bill mentored Tony into the FBI, Ralph and Pam had a child, (boy or girl, but I think boy), to whom Ralph passes on the suit. Ralph is still a teacher. (Tony visits him once in awhile and has a good laugh at the new ways the kids have found to torture Mr. H.) Pam is still a lawyer. Both parents act as "third string utility" help. Culp still plays Maxwell - FBI guys do get old and gray too. Paré plays Tony - He has developed into a terrific actor with lots of presence and good old charisma. If you haven't seen any of his work since TGAH, you should check him out. Selleca still plays Pam-she's still beautiful, why not? Ralph and Pam's son - I don't know. I was thinking of Drake Bell, but maybe he's too young. I think he's about 19 or 20. By the time it got into production, he'd be the right age. He's a pretty talented actor. Does the hero have to be in his late 20's early 30's? Maybe not.

maybe Ralph passes the suite off to his son, maybe the suite does work on somebody else!
Could be Justin Timberlake's big move to acting.

Im a long time fan of TGAH. I was only 2 years old when it came out, and grew up with it during its seasons. This show is part of my childhood, as i know its part of alot of peoples, and like me there are alot of us waiting for a movie, a movie that will do it justice. I've been reading some of the recent posts here, and never really thought about Owen Wilson as the star, its a good idea I think, if it were to be, like someone said on here, a slapstick comedy, which most likely is what studio execs will aim for. I believe that they should find an actor like Katt that can strongly play both roles of serious/fumbling idiot. Katt was great at this. He made Ralph someone that an everday joe could relate too, and at the same time laugh at as he crashed into the side of a building. Owen Wilson in my opinion wouldn't be able to do the character justice. I would like to see Maxwell played by either Tommy Lee Jones, or James Gardner(Maverick) Pamela by either Renee Zelwegger or Sandra Bullock who would be able to play the more edgy role of Pam who always had a conflict with Ralph and the suit from the start. Who would i like to play Ralph...anybody but Ashton Kutcher, I hate that guy!
