He could Punk the bad guys before taking them to jail.
I have to wonder if maybe casting an unknown would be best.

Renee Zelwegger as Pamela. I could deal with that. She has a sweetness about her similar to Sellecca, to me anyway...

I wouldn't argue with an unknown to play the roles. The New Superman is being played by an unknown, and I'm hearing good things about it so far. Should be someone that is Maguiress, you know Tobey Macguire was a good balance of Peter Parker and Spiderman, someone with those same qualities would be ideal.

She is to good for it? I don't remember anyone asking her if she'd do it anyway. Don't knock Renee, she is a talented actress.

I bet Renee Zellwegger is a freak. She's a quite one, you know. Zellwegger is around 35 or 36, and unfortunately that would be 10 or 11 years older then the age Sellecca was when she played the role though. Remember Sellecca was only a kid, at age 25. Katt was pretty young too at only 30. With the exception of Maxwell, all the other leads for a new movie would have to be under 35, or younger then that and under 30. God they were all so young back then, just a bunch of kids. I finally get why Maxwell called them all "kids". It made no sense to me as a little kid as to why he called what to me were obvious grown adults and even "grown ups" kids. But I get it now, sadly since I myself am over 25. I still prefer a continuation though. Either way, they would go really young (22-30), as they probably should. -scenario-

Yeah your right on the age thing. Now if she could be 'Jerry Mcguire' Renee that would have been cool.

Well Im not gonna start an argument here, but its obvious taking into account someones talented work in films means nothing to someone here who probably couldn't hold a conversation about film and smart casting if their life depended on it. Thats all I have to say about that.

As far as Renee's age, she might be a lil older than Selleca would have been at the time, but as far as her demeanor and the way she acts out conflict like in Bridget Jones, would play out quite well in the role of Pam having conflict with Ralph and the suit. I think its a role she could have fun with, a role any actress could have fun with to tell you the truth.

Thats all I have to say about that. not going to start an argument? then the personal insult must have been a compliment. i geuss we should all keep our opinions to ourselves. cause boards aren't about open discussions. i geuss. maybe you should start your own board and only allow membership to those that agree with you. sorry if i hurt your feelings you internet tough guy. i forget that only the most talented people win academy awards. i better stop talking cause my hour is almost up and i start to stutter. this will be the last time i respound to your posts cause your supreme omnipotent opinion is to fantastic for my micro brain. i hope your name does not indicate you serve in the military. if so you must be in the elite 'you hurt my feelings' platoon. insults intended. i am glad you didnt want to argue big brain. ;D

Thats all I have to say about that. Geesh! First of all, this only holds true if you happen to think her work is all that talented. I do not happen to be a big fan of hers. Second, how many movies have you cast? How many times have you been in on the conversations with real casting directors? We're just giving our opinions of who we picture in the roles. You picture Renee Z. as Pam. I don't. That fact, (alone) does not reflect upon your intelligence or personality, or mean that you are a little pompous and annoying. Not that fact alone...

let me ellaborate on my previous opinion. which is worth about as much as what i will create in the bathroom in 10 minutes. i think the Renee who played in Jerry Mcguire and Me Myself and Irene would have been fine as Pam. How ever, in my opinion, Renee now or today could not be the STRONG Pam Connie played. It's just not her. but again that is my opinion. my brain fart. (sorry for the sophmoric humor ThatGirl. its obvious you are lady and i enjoy you presence her. just showing you respect ) i hope this thread gets back on track as being the thread i started it as. a place of FRIENDLY opinions, insight, and an occasional jab.

I can't really imagine it done without the original cast, with a few updates, as we have mentioned elsewhere in this forum, such as passing the suit on to a son, Ralph with a new set of surly students, and Tony mentored into the FBI by Bill.

I absolutely agree. It will be a disaster if they take the original roles and replace the actors. IMO, they should keep the actors in their original roles, with the changes we've all discussed that are just a part of "growing up", so to speak, and introduce new characters if needed.
Perfect example : They are making a new Miami Vice movie, with Colin Farrell as Sonny. That is just a travesty. He looks like a complete slimeball "dressed up" like Sonny. Only one person can carry that look.
Same goes for GAH, IMO.

Well... might as well jump on in here.
I do so hope this movie happens, I myself tried everything I could to get it going, but signs are not good. I personally know four other writers who tried to work on this and all of them had problems dealing with those who control the property -- it's a shame, really. I was lucky enough to have a pitch that both Cannell and the studio liked - but in this case that was not enough. A producer, the likes of a Bruckheimer or Joel Silver would be needed to ref between the powers at work here. I was actually the first one who pitched Owen Wilson to Steven, and came up with his name after seeing that western with he and Jackie Chan - (In one scene Owen wears red long johns) I pitched it here in the board as well, but most couldn't see it - glad to see some have warmed up to it. Steven was keen on Owen, but the studio wants a name they can feel good with and Owen to them is nothing more than a second banana.
I did two things for Disney while I was there - I created and wrote Sky High (which comes out July. starring Kurt Russell and Bruce Cambell is in it as well) and I worked my a** off on GAH - The studio only wanted one superhero movie - and mine won. Not because it's better - I'd have loved to have seen my name under the GAH poster - but simply because there are some people who are simply IMPOSSIBLE to work with. That can't be that unheard of, can it?
Also - just to let you know - when I was there - the FBI agent was going to be played by a woman this time around.
