Nothing. I love the Greatest American Hero and most of my postings are to this regard. Also, to me, joking is not a negative comment. Plus, if I inadvertently offend someone, I apologize because it is not my intention to offend. For example, about the age comment, I was just joking because to me 40-something isn't old. Plus, I don't feel THATGIRL took it that way or she would not have responded with her own joke. If you get easily offended, I apologize, but I would hope you would know through our correspondence by now that I mean no offense to anyone.

I should append my earlier post, and repeat one I said in another thread (there're so MANY going that are so fun!):
I could see Tommy Lee Jones or Richard Dean Anderson playing Bill Maxwell, but of the two, I'd prefer TLJ, cuz in the end, he's the better actor (IMO).
Now, we all know why TLJ would be good: handsome, rugged, great actor, knows how to deliver great one-liners, etc etc.
My opinion of RDA changed drastically from "MacGyver" to Jack O'Neill. I never watched Mac, cuz A ) I thought RDA was an uggo (he's definitely IMPROVED with age) and B ) I didn't much care for his acting.
I don't know if I just didn't notice it, or if his ACTING improved too, but he does a marvelous job of re-creating Kurt Russell's Jack O'Neill from the SG movie. O'Neill and Maxwell are actually quite a lot alike too: staunchly loyal to their friends and their country, funny and sweet once you get to know them well, expert at what they do, smart but the kind that kinda likes to downplay BEING smart (maybe as a cover, like smoke and mirrors, just to keep 'em guessing?) So yeah, I'd approve of RDA as well.
As for Hinkley, I think it was MrsM that suggested Brendan Fraser. I heartily agree: he's cute, athletically built, and hey, he's a Seattle boy!
Davidson: Um... I'm drawing a blank. I can't think of any dark-haired grey-eyed actresses out right now who even come CLOSE to being as beautiful as Connie. They need a real knock-out, cuz I think that's an important part of their pairing: How this schoolteacher has this drop-dead gorgeous girlfriend, lol (who's also got BRAINS to boot, imagine that!)

I concur...the hardest person to pinpoint is Pam because Connie was so great.

i just can't see anyone but the original cast. Get I'm just set in my ways!
And, I knew Derek was just joking. Hey, I've survived three teenagers and I have a little one who is almost 6, and already rolls her eyes at me! No one can say anything that bothers me anymore! LOL!

You ARE set in your ways...but maybe they will remake it after we are all dead so we can't boycott the premiere.

I don't know if there has ever really been a good movie remake of a TV show...if there is...I must have not seen it.

I don't know if there has ever really been a good movie remake of a TV show...if there is...I must have not seen it. I don't know if this exactly fits the genre, but "Daydream Believers" (which is actually the story OF the Monkees, but it does remake alot of aspects of the show), I think, is pretty darn good.

Yes, but a biography about the Monkees using Monkees footage is a little different.

One movie that was decent that I was discussing with MelMac was the movie MAVERICK. I thought it was pretty well done.

Yes, that was very watchable, much more so than any other. It stands on it's own.

I don't remember it. Did they use the same cast or different actors in the same roles?

I don't remember it. Did they use the same cast or different actors in the same roles? For "Get Smart, Again," they used all the surviving cast members in their same roles (I believe Ed Platt, "the Chief," had died by then). For the Get Smart movie "The Nude Bomb" they had different actors in different roles save Don Adams as Maxwell Smart. (This movie was very poor). The attempt at a new series (which I thought was pretty good) featured new characters, but Smart and 99 were still played by their respective actors. As far as "The Wild, Wild West" I've said on another post the only things I liked were the costumes, music (used the opening credits for a juggling routine) and the train. The rest, no, especially the portrayals of Loveless and Gordon. Michael Dunn and Ross Martin's portrayals run circles around their modern day counterparts. (True, it was not the same Loveless, but they should just have had a different character. Example, Agnes Moorehead, who played Ms. Valentine in one episode, received a best guest star Emmy for that portrayal. She wasn't Miguelito, but she was a very good villianess and one of the few other villains I remember.)

The GET SMART AGAIN movie had everyone in their original roles...even the members of KAOS, if I remember correctly.

The GET SMART AGAIN movie had everyone in their original roles...even the members of KAOS, if I remember correctly. The two leads for KAOS, Stalker and Siegfried, were played by their originals as well. Bernie Koppell (Siegfried) also played his twin brother in that. It was fun, and I wish I still had it on tape. I think it's out on DVD, so I'm going to search for it.
