Hi guys, I haven't been around in a while so I don't know exactly what the status is of a GAH movie. I skimmed through these threads (but did not have the time to read all of them) and I see plenty of bogus stories or made up stuff being thrown around.
Anyway I just want to say that this morning on 94.5 the Buzz where I live I tune in and I hear our familiar "Believe it Or not" theme. I was like "what the---", you got to be kiddin' me.
Anyway the DJs where saying that a GAH movie was officially greenlit and one of the casting rumours was Seth Rogan. It was surreal to hear a station like this doing GAH talk, actually it's weird to hear ANY station do GAH talk, but they kept on the subject for a solid 3-4 minutes as some remembered the show and others didn't. Unfortunately I do not remember where they stated they got their info from, so I do not know where to verify this. Besides, I've been through too many rumours to get truly excited, but it made my morning hearing the theme, if only as background music to the DJ chatter.
If you guys know anything more, please share.
Thanks

I still think this is highly bogus, and it wouldn't surprise me if they got this information from rumors running about on the Internet, such as the listing at moviehole.net. Same went true with the VH1 mention of "TGAH 2008" (though given the source there, I'm not sure if that was valid or not ). The conspiracy theorist in me would say these rumors have made more of an appearance because of confusion with "TGAH 2008," because they are airing their endeavor in JULY 2008. It has been constantly stated here and elsewhere that the supposed filming of this "GAH Movie" was also going to be in JULY - too coincidental for my taste. Also, I've been skeptical about it since the first moviehole.net announcement - which does not list an official source saying this is a go. Plus, any ensuing blogs about the endeavor only list other blogs, including moviehole.net - which cannot be verified by anyone as being the truth. If we would have a legit comment from anyone about this - a big time film group, SJC himself, etc., I would take these rumors with more seriousness than I do - if that were possible. Another founding for my skepticism - Collazo made it clear that he put in a casting ad in the listings for roles for the "TGAH 2008" Internet fanseries, so this can be part of it too. It also doesn't help that the Morgan Hathaway endeavor is called "TGAH 2008," and their Web site looks a bit like I'd want to see in a Web site devoted to a big time film version of "Greatest American Hero" (though admittedly with a proper suit emblem). Plus, this is now the second actor whom people have said as that they have auditioned for the role. There is another "Blog" listed about it in the "GAH Movie" thread with a different actor. This starts ringing of the old "Doctor Who" - who's the new Doctor/is the current Doctor leaving/who's the new companion type of rumors that are on gossip sites and such. I get kidded about this a lot on the boards because I'm constantly commenting about these rumors, but something just doesn't seem right to me about the announcements given how fast they're suddenly appearing as "TGAH 2008" gets closer to debuting. Plus, I've noticed that anytime there has been progress on that endeavor, this rumor has reared its head. But, I also am going back to the days when they were going to air "V: The Final Battle." Before they aired "V," the PR department posted up fliers around New York and other cities that are similar to the "The Visitors are your Friends" ones that are in the actual series. The day before it was to air, each was then spraypainted with a "V" and it got people to watch. All of this is just way too coincidental for my tastes, so I'm still going to say - I'm still skeptical. I do like, however, that "The theme to the Greatest American Hero" is again being played on the airwaves.

Scenario, glad to see you back. I was in the radio business years ago and I talked about GAH on the air a lot and the potential for a new movie. I was just wishing though.

You know, thinking on it too, I've been wondering if people have been getting the "TGAH 2008" project confused too with a possible "GAH" film being produced because of something that was on that site's main page when it first appeared. One thing I remember when the TGAH.com site was first put up, they had placed an MPAA rating on there - which has since been removed (why I don't know).
That might also be why all the rumors - though I don't know why it took this long, since that MPAA rating had to have been down since at least Christmas when the fanfilm project started putting more things up on the board.

I checked out the website for the station, they had movie news listed, but nothing about this project. Rogan has been attached to a film version of The Green Hornet. An internet search turned up nothing. We'll just have to wait and see......................

THE GREEN HORNET too? Geez...why can't they leave the classics alone?

I've checked several times on actors, writers, producers bios on IMDB.com and even though IMDB.com has as much validity as Wikipedia with the whole user created info system (if that even makes sense) and have found NOTHING mentioning a new film. As per usual, we will have to wait and see but I have checked Bios and even their message boards and have found squat about it. Though indeed, Seth Rogen's does list the Green Hornet film that is being made. I seriously would like to hear a response either way from SJC. Otherwise, I do believe people are getting this confused with the TGAH 2008 project.

It'd be great if we at least heard some response from SJC, especially too that "The A-Team" has been closer to being a movie than "GAH" has been. Also makes me wish Collazo would speak up more about his endeavor and update his blog, because then we'd also know as far as what's going on in the fanfilm and maybe can help clear things up a bit as to whether or not there is some confusion between the fanfilm and a big-budget movie coming about. But I guess right now it's a wait and see approach. Been wrong before too you know.

When and if a TGAH film is to be made, rest assured it will be blasted everywhere. Just as it was when Touchstone bought the film rights, and when Hernandez was given a shot at the script. Those reports were EVERYWHERE. Sources such as Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter will have it.

Sent an e-mail to SJC's group, and got a response back. The current rumors about a movie being filmed in July are not true, and that we could rest assured that when when they do film one that it would be on SJC's site.
I'm now pretty sure that people got it confused with "TGAH 2008." But, plus side, at least we know that the idea is in the hoppers as far as SJC's concerned.

Good to know, but I find it odd that SJC and company will write back about an official movie, but not about the TGAH 2008 project.

Good to know, but I find it odd that SJC and company will write back about an official movie, but not about the TGAH 2008 project. I did mention the possibility of the two endeavors being confused, along with the site, in my e-mail, but no, they didn't say anything. This might be because they knew nothing about it, or it could also be that things have been rather silent on that board since Collazo's last blog a few weeks ago.

I have emailed them about the TGAH 2008 directly as have a couple of others. I find it curious that there is still nothing official from SJC about it, especially when fans ask.

I would image Cannell and company would choose to stay quiet about anything they might deem to be infringing on the copyright.

I suppose. It would just be nice to even have a "No Comment" about it.

That said, I wonder what all the recent talk of actors claiming they have auditioned for the role of Ralph Hinkley? The latest "known" actor to claim this was Ian "90210" Ziering.
Now, and no slam on Collazo's project, but I don't think these mainstream Hollywood actors are auditioning for TGAH2008. So why are they claiming this if there is not some official project in the works? I would rather believe (and not just because I want something to happen) that SJC is denying everything for alterior motives (don't want to give cred to TGAH2008; want to publicize A-Team over TGAH for now; don't want to jinx anything after numerous false-starts). However, as GG says and Mortimer has said in the past, any publicity for SJC is good publicity, so anything official would be in Variety, etc.
So, is Ian Ziering (et al) under some weird delusion, does Collazo really have money to burn, or is SJC lying? Perhaps these actors will pop up on April 1st and let us in on the joke... Are we being Punk'd?
