Yes, but you said "but back then it was not uncommon to have any sort of network tag in the clothes." I asked how you would know since you were not there.

I was just commenting that you were not there so speaking definitely about it is not a good idea.

The ebay is 100 % fake! To tell you the truth I have only seen 1 other authentic suit out there (besides the one Cannell owned) that id not in my collection. The suit went on auction back in 93 and I know where it is now (and it does not belong to a board member). The ebay auction and other suit that have popped up are the result of a certain person making repo costumes and flooding the market with them, passing them off as "authentic" -- (if you've been a board member here for long enough, you know this all came to a head a long time ago). unfortunatley the costume owned by a member here came from a highly dubious source and in my opinion is not real, but I would need to look at it and have 2 people (who did all the season 3 suits look it over and give their opinions). I know the people (different every year ) who made the suits (season 1-end), have had mine verified by them. I wrote the woman selling this last ebay suit a few times and explained to her why her costume was not screen used, offered to send pictures and such, but she wrote me back saying that "the costume was kept with expensive artwork and since the artwork is real, so is the suit" = If you ask me, everything about that auction was nonsense.

I've seen a "Heroine" one about too Mortimer... is that one legit or a reproduction? (In this case, the Holly one, as I've not seen one that Katt wore/might've worn for it had it been made for the whole two-hour script). It's sad though that people try and tout reproductions as the real McCoy. I will say at least the tunic is a nice try, as it does look good. The belt buckle though is not well made.

The tunic with it's zippers on the sleeves and crisp emblem is so NEW looking and you can tell the material used is different to the kind used on the show. I remember when these were being sold almost weekly on ebay by the same repro king and he was selling emblems alone for 50dollars saying they were extras left over from the show -- there was no such thing.
All the Heroine costumes I've seen are fakes done by the same dealer mentioned above.

I do want to make it clear though, while I like people making nice versions of the costumes, I seriously do NOT like the fact they are sold on e-Bay and touted as real. This is my opinion only, but if we didn't have e-Bay letting all sorts of in (i.e. a 5 inch Andy Capp's fry, toast with the Virgin Mary's image on it), we'd not have people try and tout things as real when they're not.

I have one from every season (the one I used for the Cannell pitch was a season 1) - I also have the original instruction book and box. I need to upload some pics - but I never did because SOME people download them in order to make repros. I was with Bill Katt one night and I told him I was trying to get a display case big enough to put him in. I have part of a greenguy suit as well -
And, no, there is no sensitive subject for me when it comes to talking about this stuff - it's fun and I'm on strike with little to do but work on stuff from Korea and spec scripts. I do get angry when it comes to people flooding the market with garbage, especially because it makes it tougher on guys like me who have this stuff.

I agree that flooding the market with fake sucks. That is why it is nice to have originals to compare them too...but I agree with your decision to keep them locked away. The GG suit would be neat to see too. How did you get all this stuff? Thief! And still on strike? *Shakes head* Slacker.

I had this when I was a kid.
Darn my decluttering efforts in 1992... just cause I moved out of my parent's house, doesn't mean I should have gotten rid of what's REALLY important...

I'll have to scan it for you, if I can find my copy. My Mad version is by my computer, but the Cracked version is filed away somewhere...
