It's still ugly & a blatant rip-off. If I'm buying a life-sized anything, I want the real deal.

Heck, I'm like you - I'd like to meet Katt myself. Of course, when he's in Texas, he's been in parts of the state that I'm too far away to visit. Of course, this is all in spite of the fact I've traveled every direction of the state.

Oh, yes, red is definitely the way to go. Take a picture and show us how nice it looks after you do it.

I picked up the Mad and Cracked magazine from a comic book seller online. If you want me to, I can try and scan them for all to read. The GAH bits are funny, and I love the artist who did the Cracked parody, John Severin. Both articles are cheesy but still fun. I don't want to break copyright laws, though, so legally, if I can't reproduce something from the early 80s and post it, I offer a sorry in advance.

Glad I got mine for less than $15 (S/H included)! Mona It's a little high true, but it's still a bargain given how much some charge for autographed photos of themselves at conventions - and even there they might not be signed to the person who is receiving the comic. The variant for some reason is priced more than the black copies to begin with - on the cover it's listed as $10.99. I have wondered why, but if I were to hazard a guess, it's because they did a gradient from red to ending white in the center, which costs more to print. That said, it is also nice to know that they're selling the comic for the actual price listed on its cover instead of jacking it up a dollar or two - which would be tempting given the comics are hot items. (And, at least the cover is right - no double "Canadian price" on it - without the actual cost )

Mel,
If there is one constant in life, it is your compulsion to respond to every post I write.

That's what the board is for! Fans of the show to communicate with each other. Lately it seems there's little action going on here so that'll happen at times. As for the variant pricing. Might be because it's a possibly specialized variant. I'm assuming it's the red one? Looks nice either way.

Might be because it's a possibly specialized variant. I'm assuming it's the red one? Looks nice either way. I agree, and yes, it's the red one. Also, I'd say it's specialized because it is dark red on the outer edges to white in the center of the book at the emblem (but not totally). That's not quite as easy (or cheap) to do than a solid backing or a gradient that is not circular. It's actually quite cool and the inside is the same - including sadly the two pages that were printed larger than they were supposed to. I think that both production and the comic book didn't pay attention to it - the pages look like they're 125 percent instead of 100 percent. (At least one plus - the only thing that really gets cut that has any relevance is the name of the fellow who's blowing up stuff )
