I'm already a third of my way through my fundraising for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This is nice as this year you must raise $600 minimum if you're a heroes fundraiser. (I am for two reasons - one the ones I've mentioned about family and friends having cancer, the other is in order to ensure I get to do the half marathon, I have to sign up early. Otherwise - it could sell out).
And yes - it's a foregone conclusion I'm wearing the same Hawaiian shirt get up that I wore last year.
Currently, I'm finishing up a three and a half foot tall wooden Easter Egg for our Spring Art Walk. It's a variation of a Sugar Egg - or in other words, more colorful. It's been fun bringing back some string art as well as including the traditional touches to the egg.
Have been busy at work as well - spring is the busiest with most sports. It's nearly down to two sports I regularly cover weekly for the year then a couple of meets.

I'm not sure what else you like tv wise, but it seems there's always another favorite of Mel's that's one of mine also. Dude, we wouldn't have been geek friends with The A-Team, we would have been A-Team blood brothers. My list is ever growing, so why don't you name some? Okay, here's some to start with: Knight Rider Riptide Hunter Airwolf Otherworld Werewolf Street Hawk Voyagers! Automan The Phoenix MacGyver Blue Thunder V Something Is Out There Shadow Chasers Mann & Machine The Human Target (original) The Master Unsolved Mysteries Raven P.S.I. Luv U Stingray (Cannell Series) Mission Impossible Star Trek Mannix The Invaders Viper The Wild Wild West Battlestar Galactica (1978) Tales Of The Gold Monkey Vegas The Fugitive The Incredible Hulk Quantum Leap The Rousters Have Gun Will Travel and many many more.

I grew up watching MACGYVER, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, QUANTUM LEAP, and HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL. I only have MACGYVER on DVD, although I'm eyeing QUANTUM LEAP if they have the music issues settled. I want to see P.S. I. Luv U, but I don't think it will ever be on television or DVD for me to catch it though. My list was mainly cartoons back then...well, after I was born and old enough.

From what I can tell the new Mill Creek release of Quantum Leap has all the original tunes.

From what I can tell the new Mill Creek release of Quantum Leap has all the original tunes. Good deal. I know when the series aired on NetFlix, they had removed one episode because it had so much music in it. I want to make sure it's not missing from any DVD collection I would buy.

No missing episodes, and music is supposed to be intact.
The 2 biggest complaints I see people discussing are:
1. The Lee Harvey Oswald episode is in the 2 part format instead of the TV movie version as originally aired.
2. The last two Trilogy episodes from the 3rd season were broadcast as a 2 hour TV movie. On the set they are 2 episodes, and there are different edits in those versions. I'm not the QL expert, so you would have to look those up if you are interested in specifics. I have Trilogy recorded from the original NBC broadcast, but I have not compared it to the versions released.

Of these Greenguy’s listed I’ve seen or like:
Knight Rider, Hunter, Airwolf, Voyagers!, Automan (underrated IMHO), MacGyver, V, Unsolved Mysteries, P.S.I Luv U (HD - this one has Connie Sellecca in it), Stingray (the Cannell Series and the UK Gerry Anderson series), Mission Impossible (all verisons), Star Trek (all versions including animated), Mannix, The Wild Wild West, Battlestar Galactica (all but prefer the 1978 version), Vega$, The Fugitive (original), The Incredible Hulk, Quantum Leap, Have Gun Will Travel.
I also like (outside of obviously "GAH"): Manimal (seemed to like a lot of one season series), Thunderbirds (all versions save the weird Thunderbirds 2086 and movie as it put too much focus on Alan, turning it into "Spy Kids with the Thunderbird vehicles"), The Monkees, Space: 1999, UFO (short bursts though), MASK (old '80s cartoon that's a cross between GI Joe and Transformers - with cool masks), Voltron, Ghostbusters (the animated Filmation version - the live one they did with Larry Storch and Forrest Tucker was... interesting), Buck Rogers in the 24th Century, The Love Boat (OLD version by miles), Hart to Hart (another short bursts one), The Avengers (particularly the Steed and Emma Peel era, am NOT fond of the movie), and a few others.
Oh and as far as fundraising for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital this year - already halfway to my initial goal. Not bad given the race is in December.
The Easter egg also looks really good at its location in downtown. I'm hoping to win an award and someone bid on the egg - we get half of whatever is raised on the auction of the egg, and that would all go toward my fundraising (regardless if I get a judging prize or not).

Count me in for:
Manimal (be sure to see the Manimal episode of Nightman) Space:1999 Buck Rogers The Avengers Hart To Hart Thunderbirds Star Trek Animated
I will watch Stingray, but I like Thunderbirds better. However, when I was able to buy the entire run of Stingray on DVD for $9.98 it was a no brainer.
LOL...I watched the Tucker/Storch Ghostbusters when it aired first run on CBS. It was in the heyday of live action Saturday morning TV.

I've seen the Nightman crossover. Pretty good actually and it could've turned into a spinoff.
Personally, I've tended to like "Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons" better, but not that CGI version they made.
There are some YouTube vids parodying Captain Scarlet that are hilarious. A couple feature Thunderbirds, but they both poke fun at Virgil.
In the case of Thunderbirds, I like the puppet version as well as the 2015 CGI version, though there are some pretty clear differences such as the Tracys ages, father not being there, having to tone down the violence due to it being a kids' show, etc.
Though honestly - some stories such as Crosscut and even Slingshot this causes them to be beyond credibility on their issues - the former episode Scott would've been far more injured than being knocked out and the latter episode John would've at minimum passed out form the G-force if not worse.
Then again 24G's is beyond fatal... but I've noticed science goes out the window with a lot of cartoons. "MASK" had Bruce Sato once say it was -60 outside in Alaska. I don't think that's possible let alone them even surviving in temperatures much colder than -16 outside (which is what I was hoping Bruce said, but it dubbed -60).

Well, on top of being a champion in the bubble gum blowing contest this year and a silver medalist in another, unusual one (cotton seed pulling - a way for people to learn why the cotton gin was invented), I also am now the winner of a beer stein holding contest.
First time I ever competed in the beer stein contest - in the women's division we had to hold solid glass mugs filled with probably a half liter of stout (16 ounces), arms extended, parallel to the ground. Couldn't bend the arm up or down, had to hold by the handle and nothing spill out.
Won with a time of 5:32, and that was longer than the guy's division by about 15 seconds (though in fairness they had to hold a full liter). Earned myself a nice stein as well.
My colleagues however when they found out went "Yep... we aren't surprised you competed" if only because it seems it's always the odd competitions.

Anyone else going to see SHAZAM!? It seems like a MelMac movie doesn't it? Yeah, I think Mel would go see that. I'm thinking about going to see it. I was a big Captain Marvel fan as a kid in the 70's.

It was totally worth seeing. Go see SHAZAM! A couple of weeks ago I kept seeing reviewers who had already watched it, described it as a cross between TGAH and the Tom Hanks movie BIG. Is that pretty spot on?

OK, first off I think I really need to explain the lack of being on the boards - well especially more in the past few months. *Warning: MelMacism alert (Yes HD, I do remember these )* Dec. 31, after coming back from Christmas, one that was cut to a 3-day-weekend because others "needed me back sooner," I was laid off. Twelve years of loyal work, multiple statewide honors, and I'm tossed in the rubbish bin under the claim of "budget.” There's more to it, but I'll leave it there. So for two months I did several things: Volunteered to hand out water at the Houston Marathon. I have a really cool shirt and windbreaker/raincoat I wear like a letterman jacket: when I can. Did leather tooling demonstrations during Texas Independence Day celebrations (more humor on this one later: the visitors loved it though). Odd jobs here and there: photography, some leather tooling items. Then it culminated into a restaurant job basically doing everything except cook. ****** The restaurant job lasted literally three days. Not because I hated the job - most of you know I worked at Fiesta Texas as a Looney Tune so you know I'm accustomed to hard physical work for lower pay. No, it was something better. You see - I worked three days then honored my commitment to the Texas Independence Day celebrations. That night, I got a phone interview for a newspaper position in West Texas. Did it and was invited to an in-person one. So, I traveled 12 hours that following Monday (Texas Independence Day celebrations were the full weekend), to do the second interview... ... and got the job. It's mostly what I did in the previous job, plus a couple of other extras... but a better paying job, less stress and I'm having fun. There were some challenges: first three weeks I worked half the week in the new town then traveled 12 hours to go back to the old place to pack and close up some stuff, not to mention the sunlight changes (long story), but I'm finally almost adjusted. (BTW, I had joked with the restaurant owner I would be there three days or three months... and when I had to resign, I told him I was seriously joking when I said three days. That said, the restaurant owner knew I was temporary and fine with it. I will always appreciate his and the staff's kindness those three days. They may be half my age - at least the workers - but they will never know exactly how much (and they know a lot of it) their kindness and giving me a chance helped me. Plan on eating there next time I can come to that area).) So, at least now you know a bit about what I've been dealing with especially in 2019.

And now that the MelMacism is over... to answer your questions: 1. Greenguy, yep, I read when Rimmer passed away. It was sad because Scott is one of my favorite characters in the original "Thunderbirds are Go." (Well, to be fair I like all the brothers - Scott's is just so easy to recognize off the bat. Gordon still is the only one, at least the TAG version, I've dressed up as. If I participate in the Nashville St. Jude Marathon - I cannot do the Memphis one this year due to obvious reasons, I may have to switch to TAG Alan. That event is in March, so it's warmer). And I have speculated that he was going to voice Jeff Tracy in the "Thunderbirds are Go" run of the show, based on the Mayday teaser they had (he did this for a fan film in fact), but who knows? I think now there are only two voice actors still living from the original run: Matt Zimmerman and David Graham. Zimmerman voiced Alan in the original series, Graham voices Parker (Original and TAG), Gordon (Original) and Brains (Original). 2. HD - I have seen "Shazam!" In fact, it was part of my celebration of the new job once I was finally able to enjoy some splurges. (I still had moving expenses and a couple of others I'm still about - to be nice). Some people didn't like it because you have ... OK Shazam (Captain Marvel) being a kid. Thing is - you read some of the comics and they play that aspect up at times. Did love some of the details in the climax of the movie in the amusement park, but I won't spoil beyond that. I'm going to figure out what that darn in credits scene was about though. (And greenguy, I’ve seen the ‘70s version. I preferred Jackson Bostwick over John Davey as Captain Marvel. I read what happened as to the change and it’s sad.)
