You miss my point, actually. For me, I am not invested at all in who plays who in the new movie... SL Jackson, RD Anderson, Campbell, Larry, Curly, Moe... who cares? As long as they are chosen for their acting capabilities, not their looks.
All I am saying is that if you want Robert Culp to play the next Bill Maxwell or William Katt to play Ralph in the new movie, you will be disappointed. And that seems to be the general feeling I get from this conversation - a discussion of who is most like, or most similar to, Katt/Culp/Selleca.
Let's face it - that won't happen, unless, as Mac suggested (and as Mortimer wrote) they bring back the team in cameos, and start off with a whole new team. At that point, you don't need any types in particular for the new team.

You're right - acting wise, we'll never see a trio like Culp, Sellecca and Katt. That was a unique chemistry in its own right. What matters is how well they mesh - we saw in "GAHeroine" both a good and bad chemistry between the cast: Good was the trio together, bad was Holly and Bill.
I look at this along the lines of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" - each cast was unique in their own way and for the most part the chemistry worked without a hitch (I think Mos Def was ill cast as Ford, because he played the role too cool that he was almost ice). And, in all three the cast did not look (or sound in the case of the radio series) like the other.

...or like Dr. Who.
Lots of different actors who aren't really look-a-likes... yet each carries it off...

Oh yeah, Doctor Who too... ... I just didn't want to mention the good Doctor myself though because HD would kid me about it.

Let's just hope if a new film is made its made with the same type of qualities that made the original so much fun.

I DO think body type, size is important. Katt was a decent height, but kind of skinny and not very muscular; that fits with average guy getting the suit. Culp had a good body type for an experienced FBI agent--taller, a bit more muscular, and so forth. I would like myself for them to get some sort of similar looking actors, but definitely I think the body size/type is important, too. For HD's sake, Pam should be tall and willowy. Mona

Actually, your "average guy" would probably be shorter and chubby, with a beer gut.
But honestly, most actors don't fit the average... so that's not even as big a deal to me.

I still think Bruce Campbell would be perfect for Bill.

Right now, I'd lean toward Bruce Campbell myself - he has the right sarcasm and knows when to accentuate that sarcasm and when to underplay it for the most part.

I still prefer Richard Dean Anderson.

I still think Bruce Campbell would be perfect for Bill. Could this be a shot from the new GAH movie?? Starring Bruce Campbell as Maxwell and Gabrielle Anwar as Pam. "Just point it at the bad guys and look tough." Nah, not really. Just a screenshot from "Burn Notice" in which Campbell has a real Maxwell look...in my opinion, that is. Check this photo out... He even has Maxwell hair!

I think he could do it, but I would prefer Richard Dean Anderson.
We need a better actress than Gabrielle for Pam though. BURN NOTICE is her best work I think.

I was on an airplane, and they showed the movie How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. It was not a great movie, but there's one scene where the main character, played by Simon Pegg, shows up in a red T-shirt. I took one look at his red shirt, blond hair and easy going grin, and it hit me...he should play Ralph in the movie. All he needs is a curly wig. Has anyone else seen this movie? He's definitely not a household name, but I could just see him pulling off the role sooooo easily.

I think Simon Pegg of the hilarious "Shawn of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz" could do a great Ralph.
And, Bruce Campbell for Bill, absolutely. I've said so all along and still think he's best for the role. RDA, did you see him in the commercial during the Superbowl--he's gotten a bit chubby and pasty faced. He's not in his O'Neill shape anymore!

His Superbowl one was a while back though. He has done some TV work since and he has gotten slimmed back down...especially for the movie roles he has done and will be doing in the next year or so. I still think Richard Dean Anderson is the best Bill choice, but I think Campbell could do it if he cuts down the underacting.
I am not sure on Simon Pegg. I have seen him in things and I agree that he is underrated, but I am not sure he could do a good Ralph. Plus, he would need the chemistry with whoever is Bill.

I just logged in here after reading this interview on IMDB... If we don't get confirmation of this by June I will try to ask William Katt about it at AdventureCon.
To tell you the truth though, I'm not really all that disappointed....

I don't know about this guy being possibly cast, but the whole "filming was set for July" is outright bunk. The movie hole people are a-holes when it comes to posting legit information. They will post anything, in hopes that something will be right at some point.
