Cute pics, Lauren. Paws looks ready to fight the bad guys. Won't be able to enter this one myself, as I don't have a pet or a costume to dress up my "pet" (a stuffed dog, a treasure from my days in college). But, I look forward to seeing other entries in the category. (ETA: also, welcome back magicjammies. Thanks for helping with the interactive game thread back a few months ago. We recently finished it, but we couldn't do that without your help.)

I bought my ferret a red ferret tshirt some time ago (yes, they make ferret clothing). He hated it, but if I could get a magic jammies symbol on it, and get him to stay still for one second (which is equal to one minute for a ferret) for a picture, I might be in contention for that thar accolade. In the meantime, I'd vote for Paws, she's MY GAHeroine!

This one's going to sound boneheaded, but what about one for "Most like their favorite character?" From what I've read/seen (i.e. latter, avatars), there is some notion as to who likes which character. Sometimes, we see those traits in ourselves, and it relays out into our daily lives and posts. We can be tough (Tony, Maxwell), strongminded and stand up for ourselves (basically every character), a whiz at knowledge and information (I saw this a lot in Ralph and Pam, but also Bill), or even clumsy and silly (definitely my favorite, Ralph). Don't know, but maybe it'd work. At least I had an idea that's popular, best dressed GAH pet. (Well, two (indirectly) counting the one that's been named after my username. I give up, lol. )

I'd say the single thing I have most in common with Bill Maxwell: patriotism. That's what made me realize, Hey, this guy RULES! Okay, we didn't say that way back when. He rocks. Okay, that we said. It was in Plague, when he's not giving in, even though being dangled out a helicopter. I remember how shocked I was when they actually let him go! I was like WHAT?? And he was loyal to the end, not giving up and not giving in. That's my man Maxwell, baby.

My case, I tend to be a lot like Ralph in that I try to use diplomacy first then force if necessary. (I'm referring more to daily issues). I also like to teach people about history and other subjects so they can learn something new. For example, I've taught people to juggle, given mini history lessons to people when I'd visit a museum, or even jewelrymaking. Sometimes, too, I've found out I can be a bit smart for my own good, such as making a decision and getting outsmarted. Now, I also have a lot in common with Ralph wearing the jammies. I've worn an outfit before that I was embarrassed to wear when I wore it. My case it was a silver unitard and a blue and white skirt. I'll never forget the first day I tried on the unitard (keep in mind this happened in mixed company). I had to try on the outfit to make sure it fit, and after I did, I went to show to the teacher. She took one look and made a comment about the flowers on my britches. Sure enough, you could see the print through the material. I must have blushed about 10 shades of red before I threw my shirt over it (loved the long shirts of the '90s). Despite making the correction, I still was a lot of the time uncomfortable wearing the outfit during the contests. But, like Ralph, I was a trooper through it and competed in the events wearing it, winning a first and a second. Also, like Ralph in the suit, I tend to be a bit clumsy when I try something new. (Funny thing is, the one thing I'm not clumsy in is juggling.) It seems that when I do, something (most of the time minor) always goes wrong. Burned my fingers making my first lost wax ring, got hit in the face in volleyball, etc. Worst time to be clumsy was when I hit my head hard on the armrest of a couch learning how to do a stage faint. But, like Ralph, I learned from those mistakes and did better the next (although one time with the last I nearly fell through the couch because of its age. ). Guess I'm rambling, but, like Ralph, I just try to be someone who people can talk to about things or can relate to somehow or another, and hopefully when we part, we both learn something new.

Also, what about an award for best poll or question? Seems we do that a lot (though we get few responses). Maybe even "best rank change/name" (I know there are only a few with nondefault ranks, HD, billswoman, and the three mods, but this can include idea suggestions for the fifth star ranking, listed in a thread further down in this folder.) (Then again, maybe I need to rest a bit more before I get another award idea. Starting to sound like an egghead. Or worse, Holly. )

I guess I could vote. I like the original ideas by MyTatuo and some of the other suggested...kudos to Lauren and Paws. You know this means I will need to set aside one whole Sunday or something and post all day about everything that comes to mind so I can win the award that should be mine. I wonder if I could pull a hat-trick. For my opinion, I think the captions thread should have its own category...and the funniest post its own categories...that way more than one person could win.

He's the only one who has that title under the avatar, so he has won the award already, unless someone out posts him. (j/k BTW, HD ).

Yeah, you're probably right. Going by most posts (at least what I see under the avatars on the boards), top 5 are, in order, houdiniderek, billswoman, Maxwell-FBI, MelMac (me), and jasonrobertyates (Average American Hero). I might pass Maxwell-FBI, but the other two, probabaly not. And, I'm like you MrsMaxwell, when I post, I make sure they're a reasonable length if at all possible. Otherwise, I'd be further myself (but, unlike two of the top three, I joined in early March (an amnesiac computer required my profile to be restarted, hence the April listed.)

Most of my posts are long (in one case, maybe too long) and thought out. (That is, when I don't post after running into a closed door or after a long day at work. ). I'd rather make sense, since you can be misinterpreted. Kinda like juggling, you have to be sure you know what music you're juggling to, otherwise you look stupid. Had problems juggling to a song called "South" each time I used to juggle to it at a country opry because I never understood the music. Each time, something stupid happened, I'd toss a club out in the audience, something would drop on my head, I'd trip over a speaker, etc. Wheras, "Orange Blossom Special," and the current two I'm using ("Theme to Greatest American Hero" and "In the Mood" (big band) ) never had a problem with them.

Hey, I'd have a gajillion posts too if I replied with things like "Thanks." Wait, I already said that somewhere else. Oops, my b... there's another post to my tally Yep, that's part of the fun of this. We can see who has been here a while, and who hasn't been, (although as I said, two of the top posters have only been here a couple of months. ). I try to avoid the short and sweet ones because it's not fair to fluff up the posts based on a single word (then again, I'm 14 shorter than my tally, b/c the restart of my profile caused the counter to restart, but, it happens.)
