Well, I know you're what, a copy editor? Fair enough. Spelling and grammar are two things I know I do better than the average bear, so I gave myself three zips and a snap! Lol, fair's fair, billswoman (and I am the other currently). And you're right, you write better than an average writer (in that I mean fewer proofing errors). Guess I'm saying I was j/k about the comment about giving yourself the vote. You read some of my posts, and you'll see I am not perfect. Besides, and HD will vouch for this, in the story I didn't read one of my posts close enough and I gave his namesake a concussion (talked in first and third person.) Also, I sent Ralph in the wrong direction, (to New Mexico) so I can't say much.

silverhammer, lemme guess: you're a Bugs Bunny fan, right? For some reason, I could picture Bugs Bunny saying that above, lol!
Bugs (after "winning" in the bullfight ring): Ah, me public!

You know this means I will need to set aside one whole Sunday or something and post all day about everything that comes to mind so I can win the award that should be mine. Um, I'm sorry, how is that different for any other Sunday for you? j/k Usually I post a lot on Wednesdays is how it is different.

Out post him? That ain't gonna happen. Yeah, you're probably right. Going by most posts (at least what I see under the avatars on the boards), top 5 are, in order, houdiniderek, billswoman, Maxwell-FBI, MelMac (me), and jasonrobertyates (Average American Hero). I might pass Maxwell-FBI, but the other two, probabaly not. And, I'm like you MrsMaxwell, when I post, I make sure they're a reasonable length if at all possible. Otherwise, I'd be further myself (but, unlike two of the top three, I joined in early March (an amnesiac computer required my profile to be restarted, hence the April listed.) I agree that most posts are made for quality over quantity. However, I think there are probably a percentage of everyone's post...if over a certain number like 100 or so, where you have "fluff posts" because of the nature of the board. I know that I have said thanks to people or complimented other people on the board because this seems to be a very supportive environment overall. So, I would say a good 2-4% of my total posts could easily have been what would be termed fluff due to that nature. I know that I have deleted some of my own posts, especially in the captions thread because the picture was gone, so it made no more sense. I have also done that where some people have quoted the same line as me...why repeat so much stuff? I do like this board for its supportive and jovial nature though, so I am sure that I will continue doing fluff posts at times...and not to increase my numbers...I seem to do that just fine on my own.

HD and I joined literally just days apart, I think two. Now that I've got a life (read: a job), I'll be posting even less. It's rather nice; I wake up, and there're tons of new posts. I come home from work, and there're tons of new posts. Y'all have been busy little beavers, huh? And there I go, off topic again. My b. I agree...it is nice to have so many postings to read, but I have noticed that once I get behind a day...or a week, that it is hard to catch back up and get back into the groove.

I'm shocked, Mel! I think that 'K qualifies as the shortest post ever on this board. This is a blatant attempt at padding your post count, just to get to the next title. I think even Derek is shaking his head at you. For shame, for shame, for shame.... I am. How is that an acceptable spelling of the word "okay?" Well, can't give that grammar award to her now.

Shhh, HD, or MyTatuo will chide you for taking a joke too literally. But I got him back with the shortest post on the thread, in the last page. ( I think )

Very funny HD. It is a legit short version of Okay in IM's, so it counts. Besides, you read later on, I mention my relatively incorrect info in the last move. Not to mention my grammar (who by the way, is resting in her rocking chair).

Nice comment about the grammar. I was not taking it too literally about the fluff postings. I think it is true that there is a lot of it, but I just thought I would post my reasoning for having fluff postings.

And the 'K is the shortest post I've ever written on this board. My longest still is the final story move.

I have no idea what my longest move was...although I am sure the story ones are among the longest. Outside, the story, I think my longest one might involve the fifth star ranking. I think my 1,000th post might be the longest outside the story actually.

I think my 1,000th post might be the longest outside the story actually. Yes, that one was quite long. I tend to be wordy anyway, but get into mini essays over the silliest of things (i.e. my comment about post numbers). Or will think of strange songs for the screencaps. Most of the time, it's all good. (Now, I just need to avoid one letter comments in IM talk.)

I'm sure everyone understands that everyone else is joking. When it comes to houdiniderek, I like to kid, but I miss it when he doesn't post, cause then I have nothing to read at night at work. :-)

I'll be better at joking now that I don't have any pre-audition nerves the day before I juggle not one but two new routines in front of a group of people I've never really met except over the phone. (Don't ask me why, but that's the only thing I can think of for being too literal.)

Thanks to the nine regulars who voted besides Frank and myself (MelMac, Lauren, billswoman, Ms Boku, missdavidson, Average American Jason, silverhammer, magicjammies, houdiniderek), but I think at this point that the Jammies are practically dead. I had said we wouldn't give out awards based on ten votes; eleven doesn't make it better. Regrettably, we couldn't get some more of the regulars to vote (MrsMaxwell, kattwoman, ThatGirl, J-Man, scenario, even greenguy [but perhaps he abstained]), but that the nature of these polls. Unless there is a groundswell of support next month, we may just give out limited awards that the three moderators thunk up... That's OK, I wanna work on MrsMaxwell's HEROpoly game, anyway I just realized I did vote...but I think I may have voted under another screen name (platinumrosebud). Sorry.
