Amos and Andy was great.
I've even gotten ahold of the one episode they ever made of the Batman radio show.
The I Love Lucy radio shows are sometimes funnier than the TV show.
Sorry, I got off topic.

You know GAHfan08, I bet if there was a show called "The Kitchen Sink" you'd watched it.
Now there are a few classic game shows I like watching too (and mind you they're pre-1990 or so):
Sale of the Century Match Game You Bet Your Life - I've seen both the Groucho Marx and Bill Cosby versions. What's my Secret Let's Make a Deal Treasure Mall Finder's Keepers Fun House Double Dare

I know, I know. I can't help it, those are shows we just picked up over the years. :-) But not many of them are on my favorite list.
I haven't see the Bill Cosby version of "You Bet Your Life". I bet it's cool.

I bet it's cool. It was cute, still had the goose with the money for saying the magic word and was typical Bill Cosby (meaning quite fun and full of his great sense of humor). The down side though was it didn't have as big of a following as the Groucho version, so it wasn't on as long.

One of my all-time favorites was Lancer. It is not available in any retail outlet, online or otherwise. I found a lady who recodred the program and she sold me a set of the DVDs. I just love that show. Anyone remember it James Stacy? (I know, he turned out not-so-good, but he was gorgeous.)
Also LOVED Then Came Bronson. Haven't searched for it yet.

Lately I've been scouring YouTube watching clips from the "Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts". Those things are as hilarious today as they were back then. I remembered watching them when I was a kid and liked them, but even more so now that I get more of the humor. I love the fact that these classic guys were so hilarious *without* being raunchy. Sure, they had their share of suggestive and lewd jokes, but only adults in the family watching would get them, so the kids were spared. Plus, its amusing to note that they weren't all PC back then either; it's a shame that the so-called celebrity roasts of the past decade have to bleep the roasters every other word but some of the "clean" stuff from the old ones would be considered too offensive today. So watching that, and clips of Victor Borge (the late great concert pianist/comedian) have given me the best laughs I've had in a while. Shame they don't make 'em like that anymore...

Videofox, thanks for mentioning those Roasts! I need to look them up next time I get bored! Mel, thanks for the mention of my GAH/Monkees crossover. I may one day attempt my list of shows...

I used to love those celebrity roasts as a kid as well, Videofox. And, like you, I have a higher appreciation for them now as I've gotten older. Speaking of roasts, the Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget is on TV right now. I never could stand that guy. In the beginning they played a montage of his television appearances throughout the years and they played a clip from 'Wizards and Warlocks.' Earlier this evening, I watched a show called 'Ghost Whisperer.' I had never seen it before and I'm suprised by how much I enjoyed it.

I only vaguely remember The A Team. I unfortunately never had the chance to watch that show much as a kid....Maybe I should buy seasons of that show on DVD.

Did think of a couple of more shows I like watching: "The Waltons" and "Marcus Welby, M.D."
When I was little, I thought "The Waltons" was boring and just something I was forced to watch with my parents. Watching a couple of the episodes in recent years, I realized why they enjoy it - it teaches that even with hardships (i.e. the Depression), your family is the most important things in life as well as other good lessons.
"Marcus Welby" was a surprising one. I first heard the theme to the show before I actually saw an episode, and thought it was supposed to be a big hospital drama. Instead, it's about a doctor in a small office who does his best to help others.
Now, I occasionally watch "The Lawrence Welk Show," but just to see the dancers in the show. They had skills that were absolutely amazing.

One that hasn't been mentioned, I don't think yet is The Outer Limits. I miss those marathons of it that TNT used to have once in a while. I guess you could call this a classic in the UK, my Region 2 DVD of Series 5 and 6 of Last of the Summer Wine arrived and I watched one of my favorite episodes from it, even though I've seen that 3 or 4 times already. "Full Steam Behind", the "leader" of the trio, Foggy has Compo and Clegg follow him to the re-opening of a railway line. They run across one of the train engines that has stopped for a break. As a joke Compo causes steam to come out of it to startle Foggy, but this causes the train to move! Hilarity ensues as these three retired guys having a second childhood try to catch up with the train and send it back to the station.

Aussie tv: The Flying Doctors (maybe one of you who live down under can tell me if this is on dvd?) Wow, Nicol! You know The Flying Doctors?! That was one of my favourite shows when I was growing up. I've only ever seen the 1st season repeated on free-to-air TV once, & that was years ago. The only DVDs I could find online were a bloopers DVD, a 9-episode "best-of" DVD, & a DVD of the original mini-series that the show came from; here.... www.moviesearch.shoppingcartsplus.com/catalog/item/1547342/4583673.htmMel, you actually watch "The Monkees" and "Land of the Lost"? Yahoo! I'm not the only one. :-) I loved watching re-runs of The Monkees when I was a kid, too! I have a couple of episodes on VHS tape that I bought years ago. ;D A few of the shows I grew up with which have been mentioned: The A-Team (I have all the DVDs) The Love BoatDiff'rent StrokesThat GirlSilver Spoons21 Jumpstreet (loved it & have a few episodes on my computer) MacGyver (I have some episodes taped off TV) Knight Rider (although I tried watching it as an adult & realised it wasn't that good!) Battlestar Galactica (original, of course) Mork & MindyMASH (that's repeated all the time on TV, though). I also loved Happy Days, & Highway To Heaven. What I've recently been watching is The Muppet Show. I have the first 3 seasons on DVD, & only just finished watching the 3rd a few days ago. It's brilliant! I also have seasons 3 & 4 of Fraggle Rock, although it's not as good as The Muppet Show. Feel the love. dolfyn.

My favorite episodes are when the special guests were the Star Wars cast, Danny Kaye and Lynda Carter. My favorite sketches are any with the Swedish Chef (particularly his "cooking" show), any with Statler and Waldorf (The two in the balcony), "Pigs in Space," and "Veterinary Hospital." The one I'll always remember though is the Swedish Chef sketch where Danny Kaye played the Chef's uncle: ;D
