^ hahaha! Yeah, that was one of the last episodes of season 3. I always loved Danny Kaye, & one of my lingering specific memories of The Muppet Show was him singing Inch Worm on the show. As far as my favourite Muppet characters go, they were always: Beaker, Animal, the Swedish Chef, & Kermit. Good pics, dolfyn. If we were stranded in a room together, at least we could watch some shows. ;D hehehee! While I can't conceive of a circumstance where that could possible happen, it's still good to know, HD! Feel the love. dolfyn. ;D

Another two favorite songs he sung of mine are "Anatole of Paris" ("Secret Life of Walter Mitty") and "Pavola" ("The Kid from Brooklyn") for the sheer absurdity of both. I have "Anatole" memorized - probably the only tongue-twister one he sang I've actually figured out every single word. ;D My favorite Muppets are the Swedish Chef, Statler and Waldorf, Animal, Gonzo, Rowlf, and Bunsen and Beaker.

Statler and Waldorf, an early version of Mystery Science Theater 3000. My favorite was Gonzo. I also liked Floyd (Sgt. Floyd Pepper from Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem band).

Has the great wit about him. Been trying to figure out though if all of the characters in Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem band were supposed to be parodies of real musicians, much like the Swedish Chef was inspired by a real chef. "Muppets Tonight" was also a good series, but just was short lived. Only thing I didn't like was that Statler and Waldorf were in a nursing home in that series. I think Rizzo and the gang could have used a few wisecracks from that duo. ;D

You should join the A-TEAM forum, dolfyn, with that list.

^ Aw, is that an invitation, HD? ;D ^ hahaha! Yeah, that was one of the last episodes of season 3. Yeah, that was one of my favourite childhood movies, & I now own it on DVD. I also grew up listening to a children's album of his called Mommy, Gimme A Drinka Water. Some very cute & funny songs on that one. Statler and Waldorf, an early version of Mystery Science Theater 3000. My favorite was Gonzo. I also liked Floyd (Sgt. Floyd Pepper from Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem band). Ah yes... Floyd. Has the great wit about him. Been trying to figure out though if all of the characters in Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem band were supposed to be parodies of real musicians, much like the Swedish Chef was inspired by a real chef. Actually, one of the factoids on the DVD of the 1st season, is that Floyd was based on John Lennon from the Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band era. If you look at Floyd's outfit, it's quite similar to the costume Lennon wore. Plus, there's his name! Feel the love. dolfyn.

Cool on the Muppets - and it's too funny on how some of the Muppets came to be. I've been thinking about other shows I like, and I also thought of the "Campion" mysteries. They're a little bit more like movies, but they were shown in two parts, each an hour long. Out of the ones I have, my favorites are "Look to the Lady" and "The Case of the Late Pig." I'd like to see the filmed version of "Flowers for the Judge," (second season) but have not been able to get that particular DVD yet.

I'm starting to wonder if some shows are trying for a retro feel with current themes. Some of the ones I've seen that use old characters or TV shows are "Sealab 2021" (which they used footage from the failed cartoon "Sealab 2020), "Space Ghost Coast to Coast," and "The Brak Show." One that really gets me is "Super Jail!" which has a very '70s feel to it - as in a psychedelic one. While there are aspects of it that probably wouldn't have cleared censors back in the 1970s, the opening sequence really feels that way. (I'd put in a link, but it's not safe for work or younger children. ).

Does anyone remember the old "Dungeons and Dragons" cartoon show? Always remembered the bit where they go on the roller coaster and end up in the other dimension.
Another one I remember watching regularly as a kid was "Goldie Gold and Action Jack." It was kinda corny, but there were some intense moments in the show too.
"Johnny Quest" was a good one, but I didn't like the restart of it as much that they tried a few years back.

MR. BELVEDERE is coming to DVD. ;D Cool, that's a show I really enjoyed watching when it was on. I loved how the show ended every week with Mr. Belvedere writing in his diary and commenting on the events of that day. Shame he's passed away in real life, I'd loved to have heard him give commentary on the show.

Indeed. Maybe some of the others will. Seasons 1 and 2 will be together.

Indeed. Maybe some of the others will. Seasons 1 and 2 will be together. I like that - wish others did the same. On "The Love Boat" they divided the first season into two parts. They only had 24 episodes first season, and each ep was an hour long save the pilot. They only had a few that were two hours long, such as when they went to Alaska and another country, but that was later in the series, so this didn't make sense. It's one of my favorite shows true... but still, I'd rather have a whole season than buying it in two parts. It's one reason I didn't purchase "Lost in Space." Then again - I also wish that they would release season 2 to the end of "Barney Miller." So far, they've only released season one, but not the others. Well... then again, I'd also like to see them bring "Hotel" to DVD too, but so far, no luck.

They did the same thing to the SMURFS. I prefer shows to release in seasons or in the complete series as they are doing with the GHOSTBUSTERS.

I agree - while I understand some are quite huge or have so many extras that putting one season together might be impossible because of costs, most of the shows I know of have either smaller seasons or for example "Buck Rogers" 30 or so stories is the whole season. You know, one interesting thing about "Buck Rogers" - the DVD collection - at lesat mine - did not list the episodes anywhere outside of the discs themselves. It is quite interesting to go through them and guess what is what.

Of "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" or that the DVDs for some reason didn't have the episodes listed anywhere and you only figured out which was which when you put it in the player?

The latter.
I need to get some more DVDs of classic shows.
